DCA Base Routes
Good afternoon all, I just signed on as a cadet with Republic and currently live in Richmond, VA. Naturally, the DCA base looks most appealing to me, I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on routes flown from DCA and honestly the other bases as well. I am excited about the opportunity to fly for Republic and can't wait to start training on the E175. Is hoping for DCA out of training a long shot or should I be expecting to get EWR/LGA as the junior base?
Thanks in advance

Unless you plan on driving, you would have an easier commute to LGA. Lot more flights between RIC and LGA. If you do plan on driving, LGA would be the base you want until you can hold DCA.
Pro tip: Download Flightview Free app and use the route option to get all the flights in a day between two city pairs. You can get a general idea of the commutability of your hometown airport between various bases.

Routes like busses have routes? It doesn't work that way. All your base means is that your trips start and end there. From there you can go anywhere in the system.

The airline industry has always been dynamic. It’s especially so right now and particularly in regional flying. There’s essentially nothing actionable/useful to be known more than a few months in advance. The smaller the details, the shorter the lead time. Will you be flying the 175 a year from now? Yeah, pretty likely. Will republic have a dca base … eh, probably. Will certain flight’s exist… who knows.

Hi there, I'm a cadet too! I live in DC, and DCA is a 15-20 min drive for me. Can I ask how far out you are from being on board? I heard no sooner than October, but I'm afraid it might take even longer before they start calling FOs..
