Don't you work for a turboprop airline as a captain?

Skywest. Until our management agrees to have a serious conversation regarding a contract, nobody should consider RAH as an option. Period.

If that happened nobody would apply there since the company wouldn't be able to keep their flying with the lowest bid.

Are you serious? Or do you have no clue about the industry? If we can somehow get pilots now, we'll have no problem after new flying arrives (stay tuned) and a new contract.

We've been fighting for at least an industry standard contract for 5+ years. What makes you think management will just suddenly see the light? Don't hold your breath for a new contract. I came to RAH 5 years ago thinking the payrates would improve. I'm now topped out at 36.62 with no end in sight.

Even with a good contract at RAH, I would still go to Skywest. The things we go to war over at RAH, are an afterthought at Skywest. RAH is rotten to the core. Skywest is a family run company that values it's employees. I don't know anyone there who is unhappy, while most of our pilot group should be on anti-depressants.

PS- Management has repeatedly threatened to declare bankruptcy if we force a good contract on them. So yeah, there's that...

DO NOT DO NOT come to RAH!! First off, I am not a guy who had delusions of grandeur after flight instructing. I spent 20 years in the military, saw my fair share of crap but nothing compares to how bad this place is. Management is horrible, they can't plan anything, only react. The people in schedules are incompetent. If you enjoy just sitting in a crashpad, or a hotel, as the bases you go to crashpads or hard to come by, and like to NOT fly, then come here. The reserve rules suck, you will never fly, and they will F*&K you whenever they can. I got a whooping 18 hrs last month and have just sat. In my last 25 days of reserve I have been used 4 days. They are now asking for people to take voluntary unpaid vacation for January because we are so over staffed. If what ever is going on does not happen, mark my words, furloughs will start by April. Also, there will never be a contract, the company is to good at stalling and the union is worthless. Unless there is a strike or a sickout the negotiations will continue without results. The pilot group is awesome but no one is happy and the company truly does not care about us.

No Doubt Skywest. I got hired at RAH but bailed during training. It's a real negative environment, not many happy people there.
