Skywest, more stability because of cash in the bank and employee happiness.

Someone who has been at RAH for 6 years, it used to be a good place to work, it isn't anymore.

That's not sound advice for considering RAH. Bases open & close with the wind. There's also no guarantee (despite what HR says) that you will get the certificate with the base you want. There is very little movement between certificates until upgrade.

Skywest has:
Better pay, better work rules, hub basing on the jet, proper staffing, more growth opportunities, a good relationship between management & labor, oodles of cash, more opportunity for non flying positions, a great working culture.

As another RAH FO, my vote is for Skywest.

Go with Skywest and never look back, it will be the best decision you ever made. Over the course of 3 years you will be about $40,000 richer.

What if, by some divine miracle, Republic ended up with a new industry leading contract in the near future. Would your opinion change?

Riigghhhttt, an airline that is composed of mainly E-jets and has them on their balance sheet, bought a bankrupt airline and grew it in Denver to compete with SWA and United, an airline who already has one of the worse contracts in the regional industry and is having to pay $5,000 and drop training contracts to attract candidates. The airline uses the AMR bankruptcy and the fact that AMR is/was shopping around for feed as a way to put on the press they will get airplanes but is forced to back down within hours. I work for a bankrupt carrier and it sucks, RAH grew because it pays crap but is also paid crap by the mainlines in other words they underbid others. There aren't many options out there and bankruptcy laws might be changing next year (might!!!!). Out of the few options out there a industry leading contract is probably the least likely while a rinse and wash through bankruptcy is the most likely.
