It is imperative that the plane be flown by pilots with a lot of time in type and worked on by mx with a ton of time on type. It is a total hangar queen but an experienced crew (pilot/mx) can keep it pretty reliable(ish) (credit to smittey).

In the beginning, we couldn't do a turn without a 30 minute delay. My last months on it were good. I recall very limited issues or hiccups. They are lucky they are going to familiar stations so they don't have to deal with the cargo door issue. We'd air return only to do another air return out of CLE for a while.

Horizon is a testament to this. No one has it figured out more than them and I doubt if they run high 90s completion either.
!Lately, C5 has been running completion scores well abobe 90%. It helped when United took a little flying away so we actually had a few spares.

Makes perfect sense.

Immense trouble staffing them. They will run classes weekly if they could fill them, but they simply can't. Most of that would be resolved if we had a decent contract. Not counting on them figuring that out though.

Just curious...

What are the pay rates for the Q? They aren't on APC (unless I am an idiot and missed it).

FO pay is the same regardless of equipment. CA pay is the same as the 145 rates.

Interesting. This seems to be a trend for the regional industry in general. Thanks for the info.

Guy in my crashpad said republic interviewed his friend and made him a job offer. Said pilot had 700 hours. Republic said "You're hired, as soon as you hit 1500, let us know and you'll have a class date".

Side note...1 out of 5 times an autofeather test will clear a powerplant message.

This is handy when you or someone before you (mx) aborted an AF test and later started the engines, it will throw the powerplant message.

Sort of like touching the flap trigger before you have hydraulics will throw the flap drive (or power) failure.

I just heard of a 4 day on the Q that cancelled down to 4 hours pay. With our nonexistent rigs, min day and cnx pay, that trip is now worth... 4 hours. Good thing you commuted in for that!

Meanwhile, a friend of mine has a A319 type, 2,500 hours, no failed checkrides, and a "No thanks" from the company.

Amazing.
