This is the best quote on this board. To all the FO's who joined the airline industry in 2007-08 and are still FO's, when our time comes -- We will have earned every good thing this industry has to offer.
We are not bitter, but a lot more "seasoned" than the regional lifer captains who went before us with only 9 months to 3 years in the right seat. We are all happy that 121 life turned out so well for you, but PLEASE -- stop lecturing us about how things are. You have not walked the last five to six years in our shoes (you know -- the ones with the holes in them).
Actually, you are NOT more "seasoned" than the "regional lifer captains" who were hired around MY time - 1991-92. I spent 7 years in the right seat and got displaced out of every piece of equipment and every base we had at one time or another, AND got furloughed once, all of this AFTER spending 2 1/2 years and 1500 hours flight instructing at an FBO. We have guys here at AE who are now captains who spent 8 to 9 years as FO's. So, to say that only you guys have gone through hardship is to not be totally aware of the long-term history of the regional airline business. We've been there, and we've got that damn T-shirt. and we earned even less than you do now. How about $1115/month GROSS to start?

I have read none of this board. I am only trying to answer the original question posed. My guess is NO!

$1115 in 91? Thats pretty bad, but take a look at this:
It's still more than a RAH FO made first year until they introduced the $5K Bonus.

Ok, but hopefully some people understand my general point.

Are FOs who desire an upgrade any less "entitled" then those pilots who feel they should be able to fly as long as they want? We have pilots whom during their entire career benefited from the mandatory retirement age of 60, and they now want Age 65 to be lifted. I'd say that is WORSE then a RJ FO who simply desires an upgrade.
