Default Republic Headsets

Hey,

I was reading in the FOM that TSO certified headsets are required. Unfortunately, mine is not (Lightspeed Zulu). Has anyone used these or have been given grief for not using TSO certified headsets? I just don't feel like buying a new headset when mine is completely fine.

Thanks!

I'm on the Shuttle side and that's what I use. Haven't heard anything from anyone. Although I've been thinking of getting the Bose QC2 or 3 with Uflymike just because it's lighter and I can use it while commuting. I wouldn't worry about the TSO anyways cause there's DCs on the planes so if anyone ever gives you a hard time use the DCs

Disregard the tools that haven't been properly returned to their spot in the toolshed.

Your headset will be fine. Someone gives you crap? Just switch to the DC's on the plane that day. Everyone uses whatever their preference.

That being said, you never know with the contentious relationship between management and the pilots here when non tso'd head seats might become someone's newest campaign to cause dicenssion amongst the rank n file.

We have tie/hat/uniform nazies from time to time. Given their desire to lower costs wouldn't be surprised if they decide to get in people's case on this. You are on probation during first year remember.

That would be fuel for DW to go after you. Just sayin'.

DW is too busy in IND to ever see him out on the line. Like I said, if anyone gives me **** I'll use the DCs on the plane. But I'll take a delay until I find some sanicom wipes before I do. Gotta fly safe.

God Bless.

Only stupid people gripe about non-TSO'd headsets.

I didn't know you made such great money at your regional to start blowing money not only on uniforms, but luggage, and a new headset, too. Perhaps I should have gone to your airline...oh wait
