The good thing is jets are relatively fungible. I see RJET negotiating a deal with a major or two and selling jets to lower the debt load.
With a big jet fleet acting as collateral with wings, I think RJET has the ability to kick the can on credit for years. Call it the Great Lakes strategy.

Bottom line: Republic is a sinking ship. Management has painted themselves into a corner with no good options. Even if they offer $40 an hour first year how long will it take before a more "labor friendly" airline tops them and begins siphoning off more RAH pilots?

Well AA cosigned for those 47 E175
AA has language in FFD contract to take control of those aircraft in certain cases. Would play out for Envoy as being only AA E175 operator in the future as well as rumors of Envoy E175 base in ORD before summer 2016 travel season. MIA base coming soon(again)!!!!!!

Why would they get rid of one of their most profitable operations...? I am sure there would be other areas that BB would prefer to shed before the cash cows.

Because mainline gets the assets cheaper and easier. Under Ch 11, the committee of creditors gets to determine how assets are liquidated. That process sometimes pits creditor against creditor all while the company is in limbo. The mainlines neither own the assets nor are they creditors, so their ability to even get those assets is questionable.

Envoy pilots won't allow it. Envoy pilots will strike before they accept another airlines aircraft.
