The old requirements were 300 hours PIC in type and then spending some time with checkairmen going to the special airports. I’m not positive what the new requirements are, I think only 100 hours PIC.

To be clear, the 300 thing was created back when it was a 4-5 year upgrade. 300 probably still isn’t enough to see everything there is to see at Dutch. You can get 300 quick enough to never have had to deal with flying over town for a left downwind to 31 when the backdoor is closed, for example. I’m not saying I’m for or against it. I’m just providing some clarification.

Another article said Ravn is trying to get a different aircraft approved by Feds to fly pax into DUT for charters.

Take anything Danny Seybert says about Ravn Airgroup with great care as he was rather upset to loose control of "his" company. There just ain't no love there!

They already fly the Dash to DUT for charters … what else would they want to add? Got a link to the article?

Okay that makes sense. They already have charter approval now they want to get approval for "regularly scheduled commercial operations".

So, AS is not interested in resuming service...

Interesting how AS says "will not market scheduled service to or from Dutch Harbor with a Saab 2000 " (my bold)

Does this mean AS won't sell tickets on a Saab 2000 going to Dutch even if PenAir keeps flying them to Dutch? Or does this mean that AS is going to sell tickets to Dutch on a Dash? Time will tell.
