Question Canadian Wildfire Smoke

Is there a level of air quality that would be dangerous or at least a hindrance to pilots breathing while flying? Like today in Ohio and Indiana air quality alerts are saying it could affect everyone breathing while outside too long. Just curious if that is something to take into consideration when choosing to fly.

I've spent a lot of years flying in the smoke, fighting those fires, and I'm not aware of any of us doing that job that suffered physically from wildfire smoke.

Personally, I like the smell of smoke in the cockpit.

A little bit won't hurt you, assuming you're not strenuously exerting yourself.
