FFDO F/O threatens to shoot CA
Awesome. The most useless program for "safety" strikes again. For anyone keeping record, the FFDO program so far has put one bullet hole through the side of an A320 flight deck window, conducted a couple of completely illegal traffic stops and detainment of civilians at gun point, and now threatening a fellow pilot over a potential diversion for a medical emergency.
Zero dead terrorists so far. I own multiple guns, have a California conceal carry permit, so I'm not some anti-gun nutjob. But I would have zero problems with this program going away. https://www.ourmidland.com/business/...qCHk-Ol4sxYTp4 https://fortune.com/2023/10/31/pilot...tain-diverted/ |

You clearly also don’t understand the value of deterrence. And you point to a handful of instances in over two decades of the FFDO program as proof that it hasn’t prevented a hijacking? How can you possibly know that? Maybe…just maybe, the very real threat of an armed pilot has entirely prevented another attempted hijacking of an airliner. Every time you bang at that keyboard leaves me to wonder how you can even tie your shoes in the morning.

I'm amazed this didn't blow up APC and FB 15 months ago.

Zero dead terrorists is the goal. Deterrence is better than an airborne shoot-out. Arming the cockpit was always a good idea. It still is. This thread is redundant: it's already being discussed: https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/d...-know-guy.html |

[QUOTE=ExperimentalAB;3718304]You clearly also don’t understand the value of deterrence.
Deterrence is when the opposing side knows you are a threat. The public has no idea who FFDO's are. |
