DVCR & DFDR have been both recovered and will be very telling.

One thing that I can say is that if I was in command (PIC) of this aircraft, this accident would have never occurred.

If it was a prop governor, even your topgun patch and spaceshuttle time wouldn't have helped.

It wouldn't have happened, because he's already made clear that he's afraid to go to the airport.

Sounds like a crappy design if a prop governor failure can cause such a serious situation. So much for that 10^-9 hour catastroptic failure standard.

Just based on the mindless, stupid crap you post, you’d be at the absolute bottom of the list of aviators I’d want in charge when the S hits the fan. Absolute. Bottom.

I didn’t bother checking times but if that Brazilian crew was made aware of the SIGMET they had no business being there in a turboprop.
Its also pretty much universal that you don’t get planned/dispatched into an area with known severe icing.
Where was ATC in all of this?

I hate to MMQ, but it seems they could have easily flown below the Freezing lvl which was presumably plenty high at 23 deg latitude, even in the winter. Might have to leave some pax or bags behind, but still......

Just because Juan isn't liked here be some doesnt mean he isnt respected by most others. Lets get out of the APC distorted prism for a second.
