I’m not a fan of DEI to say the least. However, the New York Post, another Murdoch rag = Pravda / All the news that’s better used to line the garbage can or the gerbil cage.

Look at the sources, they aren't making up facts.

It’s not that women and minorities are inherently unable to fly planes, but in practice, pressure for affirmative action too often leads airlines to lower their standards to meet quotas.
yes. Op ed scandal piece. Tabloid best suited to sports and wagering coverage.

Not a great source, but the statistics are undeniable.

It's not a claim that women and minorities are bad pilots, only that bad pilots who happen to be women or minorities end up in seats they shouldn't be in.

Is it DEI to hire someone that can't spell Airline?

While responsibility for overall safety cannot be delegated away from a certificate holder, checking remains under federal authority granted to individual check airmen & training center evaluators as reported to the administrator at each/every event. Any credible evidence that DEI initiatives have negatively influenced or override qualification standards set by federal code or within scope of regulatory surveillance do NOT exist to my knowledge. If you have evidence or proof indicating the opposite, please share it.

This fallacy is in the same league as the "all 121 are equally safe" narrative pushed by budget/regional airlines.

No reason at all that higher skilled and more experienced pilots would chose to work for an airline just because it pays them three times more, with much better benefits and QOL

Opinion. Lacking proof. If you operate under authority of a letter to conduct checks on behalf of the administrator, that’s your call. Likewise pt. 119 titles bear responsibility for supervision thereof. Don’t like the regulatory safety framework, call attention to any noted unsafe practice through appropriate channels. There are several available.

Remind me… which one of these accidents is attributable to DEI. Did the NYP inadvertently omit these non DEI crewed accidents?

Southwest Airlines Flight 1455 - Van Nuys
American Airlines 331 - Jamaica
American Airlines 965 - Cali Columbia
American Airlines 1420 - Little Rock
