You can leave the switch in TO, but the arming switch moves from ARM to DISARM by retracting the gear. If you try to rearm it for landing, it won't work because the flaps will be greater than 26 degrees with the brake switch in TO position.

So it would have to be a malfunction? Thanks!

Perhaps if they were flying a transcon turn they would have not made this mistake?
It was not a transcon turn. Pilots are not assigned to fly more than 8 hours flight time in one duty period at jetblue. It was however an unfortunate incident.

Really, can't fly over eight? <tic>. We better change the FAR's to accommodate the wishes of the B6 pilot group. Oh, wait we are already doing that.....

Guess the transcon turn experiment by b6 a few years ago has gained enough traction to assist in the decline of the profession.(Flamebait deleted. )

I had to look it up as I wasn't sure myself: as it reads in the FCOM, there is supposed to be a Master Caution (single chime & Master Light)with the E/WD: Failure Title PARK BRK ON if the brake is ON from lift off until touch down. Not sure what happened this time.

Also a surprise- current A320 manuals say that MAX autobrake cannot be set in flight. I remember from initial we were told that it was not recommended, not that it was not possible.

I couldn't find the reference, but I do remember a part of the MEL procedure for operating with a brake inop advises us to keep the gear extended for two (from memory) minutes to allow the wheel(s) to slow/stop before retracting them. That would imply that they are normally stopped by the brakes before they are stowed.

Perhaps at 500TT when you were hired at UAL you didn't understand the difference between "assigned"(Logger) and actually "fly over" (you) 8 hours, but you shold know by now?? Maybe its a reading comprehension thing?

Delta has this ECAM software on their 319/320's now. Not sure if JB does.

Don't know if that's changed, but I have flown with CA's who have it done accidentally. CA initially asked for LOW, then on short final asked the FO to select medium and he accidentally selected MAX. DOH!!!!

Or maybe 90 percent of B6 pilots don't want this, and you're painting with an overly-broad brush. Perhaps CAL will do you the same favor in your merge.

Lets not insult each other. Removed the initial part of one post and cleaned up the rest. Group reminder.
