Well I have seen pictures at work and it looks like the impact spun the CRJ about 60 degrees to the left. There are wrinkles and buckling on the fuselage of the RJ. It disrupted operations there at the DL regional gates for about an hour.

The video on the bottom of that link is pretty crazy... Bet it was one heck of a ride for the guys up front...

It's amazing that the tail didn't rip off. Are there any pictures of the damaged planes?

The airplane/wing of the A380 sits fairly low, compared to a B747. I believe it's one of the reasons it only has inboard thrust reverser's (so the outboard's don't ingest FOD, on narrower runways).

Maybe the AF pilots are sick of DCI carriers blocking up every taxiway in JFK waiting to get into the crappiest terminal and parking spots in the country. Either way right now DL management is going to DALPA and asking for scope relief because of this (they'll need lets say 40 more 76 seaters for this. And DALPA will respond sure why not we always are happy to give up scope). Or finally if this was a Comair plane DL is just happy this plane is gone off their certificate.

pprune has head on pictures. The CRJ tail is leaning about 10-15 degrees to the left(the exact opposite of what I would have expected).

It's more than a fender bender. Have to wonder if a tail bent that much, and the twisting of the fuselage, can be repaired.

Looked stationary to me, I think the CA guys are off the hook if they pass the whiz quiz.

But yeah, that was no fender bender. Damn frogs anyway...was it just me or did they have indicated airspeed on that taxi?
