So it is not alright to speculate on crews actions but it is OKAY to speculate on who someone is and want them to be banned?

Just wanting to make sure I understand this rules, because when I went here: http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ru...rum-rules.html, I did not see anything about either issues!

You have a point, I don't deny. All I can say is,... there is a history. We all know each other, in some cases better than we want to. However, it is possible the situation has been resolved. Not sure yet.

Pruuvit,

You would like me to be B.T.D.I , so you can discredit statements I've made.

I'am not, and everything I've ever stated about Avantair is true ,and can be verified with facts.

Who are you more afraid of, the company or the FAA?

Correct. Isn't the safety world a wonderful thing?
Being a safety type of guy myself, I can appreciate healthy speculation - if you really want to learn something from the mishap.
Speculation in this manner is akin to just plain flamebaiting and getting some type of perverse pleasure out of it is just sick.
You'll have to write to one of the admins about the Crew Speculation part.
I would definitely bring it to their attention - I would start with HSLD.

As long as privacy isn't an issue - you can 'speculate' that someone is reincarnating themselves all you want - and if proven to be true - that user will be banned again. That one is in the rules too.

If a user wants to be part of the APC community then they will have to abide by the rules that they agreed to when joining the community. If you don't like the rules, I hear that there are other forums that you may find more to your taste.

You have totally missed my point with this statement. Where is this Rule? If it is a rule you expect everyone to follow, then it needs to be posted in THE RULES! Not some arbitrary thread buried deep in a post only to be arbitrarily enforced. And trust me, I am part of other communities that even with speculation as you call it, do not bicker like I see on this board. That is why my post count is so low here even though I have been around for over 4 years. But when I see hypocrisy, I tend to point it out because I dislike double standards, and if it strikes a nerve with someone, then they need to sit back and figure out why.

What you call speculation, though you are correct it does depend on how things are present, can and do get others to think about what happened. Because you and I both know that when we hear about an accident, we start formulating ideas of what happened. But sometimes others may have a different point of view and may see something you may have missed and when they present that other view, it makes you just that more powerful, because tomorrow you may be presented with the same situation and now with a little bit more knowledge, you may have a totally different outcome because of it. But again you are correct in how it is present. I do not condone the bashing of the pilot as, like you said, we were not there, but when someone makes the comment like, It appears that the pilot may have (insert action) which caused the plane to (insert issue) thus the reason we see (insert evidence). To me that is healthy and instructive to all of us. Its not like this board is going to sway the NTSB in any investigation.

I just hope that if there is an allegiance to AvantAir here on the board, it is not clouding their judgement to lash out against someone because of a personal issue. We are part of a small community and we all have things to learn and to contribute. Healthy debate is good, but when it comes to personal attacks, it only belittles the attacker!

And you missed my answer. You should point out that fact to HSLD.

Here is what the moderators were sent as part of the rules that we were expected to enforce:
SPECULATION
Asking "why" is a crucial question in any aircraft accident and the study of fully investigated accidents can lead to improvements in the air safety system.

The accident investigation of FedEx flight 80 is in the earliest stages, as such, the owners of Airline Pilot Central feel it's not appropriate to use this venue to speculate on any aspect of the crew's perfomance.
If you aren't satisfied with contacting HSLD or asking him why that isn't in the rules, one could always point to these two items which are published:
Discretion

What is objectionable to one person may not to be another; the Moderators will use their discretion in this respect. The site Administrators and Moderators carry sole discretion, and their decision will be final. Please respect their decisions. If you have issues with any Moderator decision, contact a Site Mod or Admin through the private message (PM) tool.
The owners of Airline Pilot Central Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
I like your thinking about how to discuss mishaps. It sounds very similar to what I have referred to as 'Ready Room discussions' before - and yes they can be very helpful. It is too bad that some people can't seem to have those discussions without letting their biases soil the discussion isn't it?
At the end of your post, you seem to insinuate that maybe I have some bias in favor of a company and therefore I am letting personal opinion rule the decision making process when I am just doing what I have agreed to do as a volunteer moderator. Have you also given thought that the opinion and speculation might be coming from someone, and presented in an inappropriate manner in any case, from someone who might have a bias against a certain company?

I hope that you make contact with HSLD as I have suggested and make your case.
