Probably fueled it with 100LL rather than Jet-A.

Some Aztec-F's are turbocharged...and they originally said "Turbo" on the side. After multiple incidents involving Jet A and Aztec-F's the FAA issued an AD to paint over the "Turbo" marking.

How may I get this "jet" upgrade for my 172 of which you speak? I've been thinking of buying this:

F-86 Sabre Jet Engine General Electric J 47 on eBay

but I'm not sure how I'd install it. Shouldn't be too difficult though, I think you just connect a few cables and fill the tank with new fuel.

If it doesn't work out on your Skyhawk (maybe call it a Screachhawk), you could give it to the high speed rail folks.
