Those engines don't give the cleanest cut as a lawnmower.

Surprise surprise, once again media making it seem like it skidded as soon as it landed. It probably exited at a low speed.

I wonder if it had something to do with autobrakes.

The winds were about calm. I don't know what happened but there have been cases where the brakes/anti-skid system unintentionally activated the brakes on landing. That is with Airbus planes.

Have not heard of any unintentional brake activation on an Airbus, do remember brakes going to max with lo or med selected, but that was...several bscu's and years ago

Thai Airways blacks out logos after accident - CNN.com

We talked about 'cirsis communication' directives in another thread some time ago.

This idea seems like it might have worked in a different time - but now it looks.....well........bad in my opinion.
Blacking out the logo isn't fooling anyone and it makes it look like the company is trying to HIDE something. It isn't like there is a chance of actually hiding the identity of the airline/comapny involved.

I do disclose though that I'm not a guy with a degree in public relations or mass media/communications, so maybe this is what the think tanks/brain trusts think actually works!
