With Sparky having the ability to self-ignite, it might be a good idea to divert for a lav light going out enroute. :D

A little touchy are we..... Sparky seems to have some pilots a little defensive lately.

It's not defensiveness, it's nerves....;)

Talk about Sparky confidence?

I saw a Sparky Captain at the Flight Insurance Booth the other day before taking his flight.

Yes. I'll make it easier for you: unlike our other airplanes, the flaps are more dynamic on the 787 and it is possible that the poster I responded to was unaware that the 787 has cruise flaps.

Asked a 787 instructor about this divert. He wasn't familiar with the details but said if it was a flap malfunction in cruise, it could have increased the fuel burn enough for the destination to either no longer be legal, or out of reach completely.

Some of you guys still don't know how bad you lost. It'll come to you one day. In the mean time, you should just get in line and try to get along.

You are correct. The FMC fuel predictions become invalid and range is adversely affected. I would post the flap sys qrh picture but I'm too lazy.

Do they go negative or just do a TW841?
