That landing gear has to be a marvel in engineering. That right main took however many hundreds of thousands of pounds without failing.

Rudder. Rudder. Rudder. A 'good' pilot will become (maybe has been) a rarity. How many of you have experienced a coworker forgetting to fly the airplane to the taxi? My money on is on - most. AND who is at fault? Everyday a Captain doesn't encourage his F/O to hand fly the airplane. Everyday a Captain doesn't take the opportunity to hand fly the airplane. Those that do - you're not alone. Your efforts are the last remaining hope for this industry and our way of life.

Jeebus. Did that thing land at a 45 degree angle?

27.4 meters/second works out to a hair over 53 knots.

That's some amazing landing gear and a very lucky pilot.

If you look at a lot of videos of max x-wind landings for certification they land in a crab not wing low like most of us do.

True, they demonstrate that the airplane will tolerate landing in a substantial crab; but if the same test pilots arrive in a stiff crosswind at the Paris Air Show, with company VIPs on board, they prefer to land "like most of us do".
