I just don't see how they made it into the pond. At the end of runway 23 is part of the golf course. That pond they went into is well left of the center line. Seems more like loss of control rather than an overshoot to me.

I don't think Desert Jet had anything to do with it, other than being a 135 operator of that aircraft at times. From what I understand this was an owner/91 flight with no DJ involvement.

Yes, this was a single pilot, owner operator thing. The guy who runs "flying like the pros", mossy i think is his name trained him i beleive. (According to one of his posts on facebook, the pilot was a "single pilot jet freind of ours", in reference to the accident)
Many multi millionares who fly their own jet go through him. Citations, eclipse, embraer phenom etc. Great teacher/CFI, probably one of the best, not his fault at all. Just some people arent good decision makers in the flight environment. For example, this guy had plenty of time to realize a go a round was needed. But he didnt.
Glad everyone is ok.

They were 2000ft midfield downwind and came in hot and high with a tailwind. Can't seem to understand why he didn't go around. Touched down with less than 1500ft of runway left. Skid marks start around the 1000ft markers.

Pond is straight shot down 23 past the winding sidewalk. Golf course on the other side. He kept it pretty straight down runway barely missed a runway end light with nose tire before hitting pond on a 45 degree angle.

With no engine issues or any emergency? This guy needs his license taken away before he kills himself or someone else. Maybe this will prompt the FAA to take action. That just sound absolutely stupid. Complete lack of common sense.

I was absolutely shocked and the lack of scene containment was even more shocking. Airport was never closed during the entire time emer crews were present at the end of the runway and people were driving golf carts across the skid marks in the grass. Had the wrecker company not disclosed pictures to the local news channels I am not sure if the FAA or NTSB would be aware if the are

That is 7FL6 for you. I have spent a good amount of time at that airport and I can't tell you how many times I have yielded for a golf carts while I was taxing around. The residents were always super nice and I always had a great time there.
