Default Bizarre crash

Pilot crashes plane into his former home - CNN.com Video

One of the most bizarre crashes I have heard of ever.

That is the fishiest thing I have ever seen/heard. Maybe the accident investigation will tell more, but wow what a ******* show. I mean kudos for grabbing a garden hose to fight the fire but geez his old house?? Was there an ex living there he doesn't like?? Looks like it was an old man living in his old house, so what the frack??

P.S. That reporter is extremely pretty imo.

Sounds like the guy lived there many years ago and didn't know anyone there. Also they said he arrived inverted, and his boss said he had departed on a legit banner-tow mission.

Coincidence IMO. We're not talking billion-to-one odds...if the guy lived in the same area his whole life, in several houses, odds might be 5,000-to-one.

The NTSB always checks for the possibility that it was intentional, anytime an aircraft goes into a residence or business, Etc. Typically there is a member of the investigation team whose primary purpose is to gather/investigate personal background info.

Almost 25% of traffic accidents occur within 1 mile of a driver's home and more than 50% within 5 miles. It's just where you are most of the time. Banner flying is local flying, he had to come down somewhere.

Yeah.... they also said he suffered a power loss. As we all know, airplanes tend to roll inverted upon power loss... Drag from banner in back gives stall/spin? Experienced pilot? Does not make sense to me.

I agree - also the way the boss was talking was odd IMO. Perhaps he was also just stunned and trying to rationalize the situation but his lack of surprise and awkward "defense" of the pilot is weird. He would have been better off saying "I'm glad he's ok we're trying to figure out what happened" or something.

Which is EXACTLY the reason I moved 6 miles away

A little more information regarding the crash:

CEN14FA230

I'm still not buying it. Slow loss of engine power, a commercial pilot, releases a banner and then he descends, "inverted" into his own former house?

Geez, I hope I'm never falsely accused of something in your neck of the woods! Give the guy a break; it sounds legit to me. Sometimes strange things happen. The whole inverted part makes sense, since he did ever a stall/spin. I think the real "odd" part is your willingness to string him up without due process.
