For those of you that took my concerns seriously thank you for your input.
This guy lives 600 miles from me but due to the nature of your business I see him more than normal.
reddeacon has no judgmental aspect it is simply a name from a 70's comedy show and is loosely reconstructed from dead recon.
I came to a pilot site because initially I was concerned about the potential of him going off in the cockpit and endangering hundreds of lives. I agree that of equal concern would be his on the ground behavior as well.
I also appreciate the advice on the consequences of contacting the airline directly. I don't want to impede his livelihood but I don't want him risking others as well.
Again, thanks for the conscientious replies. As suggested I will let his peers determine if he is a danger to his profession.

This is no different than the person that goes on a shooting spree, and after the fact neighbors and family talk about how unsettled or unstable the person was but no one wanted to speak up. You have a much better picture than someone who is just meeting him for the first time, and about to spend four days in a cockpit with him. This guys livelihood shouldn't even enter your brain, you're understandably trying to justify not wanting to act.
If everything you say is true, from an objective outsider looking in you have a moral obligation to at the very least report everything about this to the FAA and his employer. Every accident has a chain of incidents, only we never read about accidents where the chain is broken early on. The doctor enabling this also need to be held accountable. I would confront them and tell them either stop, or you'll be sending letters to not only law enforcement but their state certification boards.
After that, if this guy is serious I would get ready to defend yourself. Conceal carry classes, buy a gun (or many), etc.
You have a volatile situation, but sometimes doing what is right is the hardest thing of all.

I don't think any one can give advice on an online forum for this. We do not know the opposing side's story. Details can become embellished, as well as left out very easily.
However regardless of the story if you as an individual know that there is a potential safety hazard or threat (especially when it comes to aircraft safety), you have an obligation to speak up (easier said than done i'm sure). If you don't though others also won't.

I wasn't going to respond and just view. But now I'm concerned. Reddeacon, do you know if he is a FFDO? A federal flight deck officer? Armed airline pilot ? I like the advice of writing him off as a friend. Calling the cops when appropriate. And letting his coworkers take care of things.
But if he's an armed pilot I would advise something else.

It is a troll, folks. Look at the pattern of response compared to the previous "new visitor" on the site. Very similar pattern looking for "advice." A string of emotional pleas and crazy / unlikely descriptions.
If the guy got P-D license plates there is no way he can be a pilot. The next time he is pulled over the gig would be up, or seen walking into the airport with handicapped plates? Nope.
Similarly, NO doctor will give drugs to "keep it off your record" any more than one of you will let me "hang out in back" so I can fly for free. It is just stupid, too many eyes required / easy to catch, and even if it happens once or twice, could not be widespread or a pattern.
APC should just close threads like this. It does not add to the forum.
