I'm not really sure what all the resentment is about. I haven't had to interview for decades (thank God), maybe someone can 'splain it to me.

You have conferences that are put on by minority organizations, specifically for the benefit of the minorities, yet they allow others to attend. They get to talk to recruiters, get their applications reviewed. So what if minorities that these groups actually exist for get priority?

So whose fault is the gaggle that these conferences are? Is it WAI for allowing too many people there? Is there a way to blame it on the recruiters? Or is it just the fact that there are too many people interested, and not enough organizations putting on conferences? Seems weird that on a thread about WAI hiring news, that people are complaining that they have to attend these conferences, instead of being grateful that these organizations allow them to.

Seems rather disingenuous for people to join these organizations merely to go to the conferences, with no interest nor involvement, and then complain about them.

Pretty sure the organizations are ok with our "involvement." It's a mutual understanding, I pay my fee, they gladly accept and provide scholarships and whatever else to their minotity group with my fee. It's a win win for everyone. I think you need to take a look at those complaining about their conference being inundated with white males. Just follow the $s. I spoke with a recruiter recently from Delta and he said they collected over 1500 resumes. At a very conservative amount WAI collected $330,000 from white males in attendance fees. I'm not complaining about it, that's good for them. But don't get your panties in a bunch about seeing the mass amounts of guys at these when it is "your" organization that has allowed them in, and it's obvious why.

I'm sure these organizations are just fine with the involvement. If they weren't, they would limit attendance. It sounds like they should limit it far more, so people have greater access. I can understand why a woman attending would be annoyed at having hordes of men there. They don't collect the money, it is the organization. Having thousands of men there where there weren't before does not benefit them. Perhaps WAI enjoys having the larger membership, bigger conventions, and the increased power that money brings. I have no idea, I have no involvement.

I can't comment on Frontier, but this wasn't normal for Spirit a year or two ago. It probably will be now unless we get a new contract and order more airplanes. Upgrade time at legacies is starting to go shorter than Spirit, and the pay is twice as much.

Really? Like 10 years+? Yeah I was told by friends at Spirit that Aerocrew tickets would be sold out within an hour.

I received an email from SWA thanking me for meeting with them, inviting me to reapply to the latest window and asking that I let them know when I had applied. I complied and less than 24 hours later received a TBNT email. Some have said it may have been an IT issue but I don't know of anyone else who also got the TBNT email.

I also briefly introduced myself to the Atlas folks as they were preparing for one of the hiring briefs. I mentioned I had received the online assessment but hadn't taken it yet. They advised me to take it ASAP and I would most likely be invited to the next round of interviews. I complied and am now in the pool there.
