For those building flight time, make sure you double, triple, quadruple check, etc...your flight hours when putting your time in online applications...and especially when you show up for day 1.

Seems obvious, right? Well, I just started new hire this week and a guy was sent home because was 4 (FOUR!!!) hours short...

It's not possible to take the ATP written before passing the ATP-CTP course.

Also, to a previous question, there are many things in the ATP written that are not covered in ATP-CTP, so most definitely start studying early.

While the course was informative, I HIGHLY recommend getting Sheppard Air to study. The course will my prepare you enough assuming no study on your own.

Stupid question I'm sure, what if I paid out of pocket for the ATP-CTP course at some school? Also does having an ATP heli waive the ATP written for this?

They no longer take money out of your bonus for the ATP-CTP so I am not really sure what the benefit would be paying out of pocket.

No other ATP will allow you to bypass the ATP multiengine airplane knowledge test.

As long as you have an ATP-CTP certificate to show the testing center, they will let you take the ATP multi engine. Makes no difference who pays for it.

I'm not aware of any waivers for this requirement, other than the one for the guys who were grandfathered in who had passed the knowledge test prior to the law coming into effect.

Quote: Wonder what the recruiters are telling new hires about upgrade times. Just so you guys know the most junior FO awarded an upgrade was hired in December of 2012. Over four years to upgrade here at RAH. If you're chasing an upgrade this is definitely not the place to be. Although we might have the highest pay rates we still have some of the longest upgrade times. So the only real reason to come to RAH would be if you lived near or in one our bases. I'm not saying this is a bad place to work, I'm extremely happy I came to work for RAH back in 2013, but those looking for quick upgrades and captain pay should look at other regionals before coming here. Then again for all you college grades fresh out of flight school with restricted ATPs don't forget that you'll need that 1000hrs of 121 time to upgrade. Pretty sure I broke some kids heart when I told him this. I guess they never told him that back in Florida at his overpriced aviation university.
You know that the upgrade time over the last 10 years is not exactly indicative of the next 10. We literally have no idea how it will go. It's very hard to argue though that it will not drop from where it currently is. You can't possibly say the next decade at RAH is going to be like the last. We're no longer using junior FOs. Mid level guys are getting hired at mainline. Times are changing.

Totally agree, but what most pilots are looking for republic does not offer. This might change once we come out of bankruptcy.

Could someone currently at republic give me some insight on the current lines in NYC? How many days off for an average line?
