Quote: then I guess what’s the hold up in presenting the EO
My guess is there’s no final agreement yet.

Or it could be tied to concessions, in which case it would be a month-long process. Followed by another month of EO bidding/sign-ups. If the intention is to cut training/minimize displacements and furloughs, they’re kind of doing it out of order.

I see a lot of posts about company bluffs, negotiation tactics, FUD, etc. I don't really understand where it is coming from. According to the latest correspondence I had with my union rep we are not currently negotiating anything other than an early out. I think the company's plan is exactly what they have been saying all along. Much smaller airline with a multi year recovery. They think they can make this bid work because there is no requirement to train everyone in a year, just convert them.

The company keeps saying they hope voluntary programs prevents the furloughs which I assume means early outs or personal leaves. No mention of concessions.

I have a feeling you’re correct. They will follow through with this displacement/furlough. I’m just curious why DALPA is suddenly interested in polling.

Disclaimer: I have no view into the inner working of the MEC, but if they are just polling about early out programs it could be: what do you value more, money, travel benefits, medical coverage, or money in an HSA like plan. Do you prefer SIL or ALV reductions? If there was a plan with X, Y and Z would you take an early out? If there is an early out would you take it with 30 hours a month? 45? 55? 65? Easy way to see where the line falls.

Just to be clear, your rep told you management came to the MEC meeting and did not ask for concessions?

Ask him again.

C44 or C81?

Seems we have 2 markers already on the spectrum. And the reception and acceptance from pilots.

Cant believe there is much difference in 62+ yr old airline pilots.

Company proposed ERP received, and we said pound sand. Negotiators meet with MEC to get direction in light of peer group ERPs, and any updated vectors resulting from fingers on the pulse of the (in lieu of polling, vocal) membership. Negotiators return to the table to hammer out final ERP agreement and we see an update soon.

That's my guess.

One non-voting rep is on FB implying that the company still wants a 15% lower ALV. (He said “equivalent to two months pay”.)

Quote: Well - just look at the math - some 6,300 displacements - 12 months to do it in... they have to average 525 a month just to get them all done by the end of the conversion window.

The date is just the month of training and the month of conversion, not the specific date. So Nov 20 is November 2020. So every month is going to have huge numbers of people just because that's what has to be done.
I believe BS said that while there were almost 7,000 displacement, when you take out the folks they know won’t train like the senior 777 guys, and the 2500 UNA’s, it was only 3800 training events. He then went on to say the only one they knew they couldn’t complete within the 12 months was the 220 training.

So now we have to take a two month pay cut (displacements) before we take a two month pay cut (ALV)? Guess the company is showing everyone what happens with a union. I won’t fall for it.
