Can a US crew fly an AA flight under a different certificate? Just wondering. Vice versa as well obviously.

No, it would have to be a code share flight until single certificate. That's targeted for next April or so.

DCA
Im hoping mainline takes over all the DCA-BNA/JFK/RDU stuff so I dont have to do the TRUPS 2 arrival anymore. get rid of 2 50 seaters both doing the same route within 30 min of each other and have you guys do it with your vnav. MIA -CLT is all mainline starting MAY 1 and I believe CLT-new york airports is already. Short term it hurst us regional guys a bit because we lost a lot of flying but good that it means more mainline flying long term. However July will be nice when we can all non rev on both carriers since we lost ability to send our D2 on quite a few destinations for a few months.

If someone was to get hired on the airways side what would be my best path back to ord?

Completion of SLI. This varies from an estimated 1-2 years from now.

There is a big battle going on in Seattle right now and delta is ramping up quickly. The Pacific Northwest and Asia for that matter seems like a big hole in Americans network. Are there plans for an increased presence in the northwest us or will it be done through a codeshare with Alaska? How about the pacific, it seems that while American owns South America and is good in Europe there are significant gaps everywhere else. Comments?

For the near future all is "status quo" til we strengthen what we already have got. That's what I interpret Parker as saying…No major changes anywhere but opportunity to increase US cities to AA hubs and vice-a-versa. IMO only, I doubt we will go after the far east any differently then we have been, i.e. DFW and ORD and some limited LAX, no mention at all about the northwest. I understand its most important at this point to get our house in order first prior to expanding, but Parker himself had said in the past that Asia would be more apt to be existing alliance flying (OW). There is no good West coast gateway not already dominated by the other US majors or in the case of LAX, all the foreign carriers. And while SEA might be all that is left, it might be too little too late for AA…even if there was a code share with Alaska. See us overfly the west coast with connections to the far east from DFW especially with the 787s coming. I have heard that the loads are just OK on the 777s, dont know about LAX but I think thats mainly O and D traffic, not so much feed. I doubt PHX can support it, so it looks like we're mainly reaching south for now. Way more then you asked but I think this is the latest always subject to change!

The word is Airbus and Boeing widebodies out of PHX to Asia and other long-haul destinations.

LAX is crowded and expensive. The plan for the new AA is to operate KPHX as an international hub; a west coast version of KPHL.

Find that hard to believe from parkers comments in the past, but if it works it works. Believe it when I see it.

I havent heard that plan. Parker just did a town hall meeting to pilots last week and never alluded to it, even after discussing PHX's future.
Not saying it isn't true, but reliable sources versus wishful thinking are hard to separate sometimes. Like always, I'll hope for the best. Moreso I hope there is good info to back up management's strategy.
We at AA have seen so much waste on bad decisions when it comes to adding and dropping routes seemingly on a whim. IMO the bean counters here needed a reality check a long time ago, and all you hear now is that we made some unfortunate bad decisions in the past.
Certianly couldn't pilot an aircraft that way…we'll see.
