Quote: considering RAVN lost all code share with AS (because they crash planes and kill people), smells like a **** rumor.
I would like to apologize for my crass comment and general lack of knowledge (also the ability to spell). It was in extremely poor taste making light of people dying to crack a one liner.

I also solemnly swear to do my research next time and not simply copy/paste pay scales as an end all to pilot quality of life.

To summarize: habitual Kool-Aid use can lead to early Alzheimer's, please beware folks. Ah I did it again...

Some people have nothing better to do with their lives. Haha I wouldn't be surprised you're 5-7 of the people commenting here like a sad sap who lost their medical due to schizophrenia. Enjoy childhood while it lasts, which for you is obviously a long while.

considering pay is years at company, not years in seat like most pther places
Virtually every pay rate is years at the company, not years in the seat.

Best of luck my friends

Sorry to hear about the chapter 11. For you AK pilots I hear ACE is looking and might even be hiring street Captains. Good luck up there.

Danny the Douche
Ok, I bit my tongue and refrained from posting anything because of the enormous impact this bankruptcy will have on everyone in the organization...but then I read an ADN article (linked below) where 'Danny the Douche' said this:

[PenAir chief executive Danny Seybert said the bankruptcy proceedings had been in the works for a while and it was something he was "quite excited about."]

"quite excited about"? W.T.F. over?

My advice is to seek employment elsewhere and give PenAir the same respect they gave their employees in Portland and Denver...a three-day notice.

Quote: There are better options than PenAir. I speak from experience as I chose to leave. I do not regret my decision. PenAir's financial status and practices are shaky at best, which is the main reason I cannot in good conscience recommend PenAir. I can only speak to what I saw while I was there and the information I gathered from employees in the know due to their position or longevity, because PenAir is a private company and their financial data is not open source. I was grateful that every day I walked into the building, the doors actually opened and that my paycheck was deposited on-time every month; however, I thought about it on most days and fear that day is coming sometime in the near future (this is only my opinion). In addition, management on the first floor has a good track record of either promising or "hinting" at benefits (ANC based, upgrade time, 4on/3off schedule) which they never intend to make good on. If you still think you want to give PenAir a try, ask for a written contract to back up the "sales pitch". I won't even go into the monthly fight for credit pay. I fought the good fight as long as I could, and then took the advice of a senior captain - I let PenAir take a little bit of money out of my back pocket every month. It was either that or risk a stroke/heart attack from the outrage. ~Just keeping' it real~ Sincerely, Deadpool
As I reflect back to the beginning of this blog on January 18th, I wonder if 'Danny the Douche' was already "quite excited about" bankruptcy proceedings. I wish nothing but the best for each and every employee there (yep, that includes you flightview and you Mr. potato...and every other second floor troll or Stockholm syndrome victim that has visited here over the past seven months). Don't sell yourselves short, you deserve better. Trust your own Compass and navigate a better and easier path forward...
