Disregard last, I found the spot to upload recommendations, on the last page of pilot credentials, along with your resume

Quote: Reading the SWA website with the position announcement it appears they've gone back to their old requirement of needing the type rating to get an interview...so for those of us without a B737 type we're screwed...
I'm not sure about that. I got the type at HPA a few years back, and some of the SWA new hires came and spoke with us. From what they could gather, it seemed that about 9 out of 10 had the type prior to hire.

With the hard requirement for 1000 turbine PIC, its going to put you in a smaller pool of applicants, and percentage wise it will come out to the same chances for UA or Delta.

Who knows, if you have the LORs, you might have a better chance of someone with the type.

Per the internal hiring announcement:

"B737 type rating is not necessary for interview, but will be required for employment. "

Nothing new here. Good luck to all. And for those with comments about the 10 year plus upgrade: yes that is true. If your only concern is upgrading then don't come work here. If you want to work for a fantastic airline, with amazing employees, a stable and bright future and the opportunity to make $200K as an FO, I hope to see you on the line.

How long does it take to get the pilotcredentials link emailed to you after you submitted on the Southwest careers website?

I didn't receive an email with the link. I just went to pilotcredentials and applied. The first question is "Have you completed the questionnaire on SWA careers?" I answered yes. It's up to you, but I would't wait for an email.

Hey guys, I applied to SWA via their career swajobs.com site yesterday. It was job posting #21173. I received an email saying they had received my app. When I logged on today, I could view my resume, but I couldn't view my app and it stated that the job status was "closed". I then checked their job postings and there is a new one listed today 13 sept 13 #21177. I don't want to apply twice for the same job as SWA says not to in their FAQ's. Anyone know if this is normal to have job status closed when they log back in? I just don't want to apply again and do the wrong thing. Thanks.

mjstrojan - same exact thing happened last 2 windows. It's essentially just a window inside a window if you will.

If you applied and meet the minimum qualifications you should get the email with the link to fill out the app on pilot credentials next week since we're now into the weekend.

Don't apply twice!!!

Wonder if applying twice is a kiss of death? Kinda borders on not having attention to detail? Oops!
