Edit: I moved this to the Majors forum to get more exposure. Addiction is a horrible thing. 4 children are without their parents now as a result.

Brian and I went through upgrade at Pinnacle together. Hilarious guy, always fun to be around, and a fantastic pilot. RIP, brother. You will be missed.

Very very tragic- pray for their family at the least, and reach out to help if you can.

Centerville deaths of Spirit Airlines pilot, wife, fentanyl-related
No, the world lost 4 childrens' parents that put their wants above their childrens' needs. Disgusting.
This is really sad. Addiction is a terrible disease that affects many families across all walks of life.

T&P's to their children.
I can't imagine the loss felt by his kids and family. Such a tragedy. I knew Brian back in flight school, I have a fun memory going out flying in his C310 with some friends... pretty sure it was to go wake boarding or something like that. My heart goes out to his family. Godspeed.

Don't make me explain addiction to you.

Additiction is not a "want" it's a serious disease and sometimes similar to many serious diseases it kills. Children lost parents, parents lost children, friends, brothers, sisters.... please, take some time to educate yourself on addiction. Do not take this in a condescending manner but as the advice of one friend to another, it is something we all need to be aware of because it arises where we least expect it.

Rest In Peace Brian and Courtney.
R.I.P brother.
She obviously had a history and her ex died of an overdose 10 years ago. He may have not had a problem.
Yeah let's not jump to conclusions. The history of the wife is alarming. So they were fine the night before and wake up OD? Just doesn't make sense. RIP and prayers for the kiddos.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree with airmic on this one. Yes, my understanding of addiction is limited. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what habits in life are addicting. Just don't start! I don't even drink coffee! But I sure as hell would never stick a frickin needle in my arm! Yes the situation is very tragic and I truly feel bad for the kids. But at the same time that is what angers me the most. As a parent I get sick of how many people today shirk their responsibilities to their kids in place of their own selfish desires. Having kids is a huge endeavor that to many people take way to lightly. You could say my own life ended when I had my kids because it's all about them now. If you want to continue to party like a rockstar, party on! But maybe kids shouldn't be in the picture for you.
