Quote: They force you to work overtime and then refuse to pay you for it. Almost every single time I’ve had OT I’ve had to file a grievance.
I've never had a problem. I've had a couple of non-matching bonus pay sheets as I figure out what's what, and at least one was non-matching in my favor. The company has even reimbursed me for significant expenses I didn't claim when they were listed on the same receipt along with expenses I did claim.

Quote: I don't know how there can be a worse place. Shrinking airline with constant threat of furlough directly from the president of the company's mouth. Can't even build heavy time at any decent rate as there's not much flying. Reserve is indefinite and upgrade is nonexistent. But at least you'll get to eat grungy cafeteria food when you do 17 hot reserve days in a row.
OK. This place has problems, but let's not venture into the realm of the ridiculous.

1. There can be a worse place. One of my classmates came from one.

2. The furlough threat hasn't been heard in months, and we all knew it was ridiculous to begin with. The company has been actively hiring since the first of the year. There was a recent threat to displace captains which was quickly shut down by higher authority along with a directive to hire more.

3. It would be great if there was more flying, but we wouldn't be doing a lot of junior manning if there wasn't would we? I just did 19 days on reserve (17 plus an XRD and JRM) with only two R1s, and I've flown more than 500 hours in the last 12 months.

4. I spent a solid 11 months on reserve after IOE. Got a line month 12. Back on reserve this month, and a line next month. A couple of my classmates, when bidding less selectively than me, have had lines more frequently.

5. True, there have been no upgrades since January of last year. Further upgrades will depend on maintaining at least the current level of flying or better as retirements continue.

6. I'll be sure to let Bonnie know you don't like her cooking. Yes, the menu tends to be limited and not always fantastic, but her soups are pretty darn good.

7. Highly unlikely you will ever do 17 straight R1s. Some do more than others, and some locals actually bid them.

There are enough problems and reasons not to come here now without exaggerating.

Dont listen to this dude above, ABX is a loser company with no future as long as Soapy is there. Period.

Amen bro...this guy killed the golden goose just like he did at Comair. And the board of directors allowed him to do it. Can’t wait for the shareholders meeting on May 10. A show to be remembered.

Never said this was a great place to be. If I knew what I was in for, I wouldn't have come here. I only said there's no need to exaggerate the problems that exist.

As for you, what are you doing posting in this forum? You're long gone. Just go away and be happy with your life already.

I hope you are right but the ATSG Board is so clueless. They’ll probably give the Soap Scum a promotion and a pay raise.

I and others have done more then 17 R1's straight. If you're good with living off soup for half your adult life then more power to you. And flying 500 in 12 months is not a lot. Most guys didn't get to that 500 hr mark after a year so you did well there.

I think its going to be 15 months for me. Still haven’t broke 500 hours. But everyones mileage has varied dramatically. Some of us got on these ruts on airport reserve for weeks straight. When they had the coverage or extra guys, its seemed like the number of back half R1s doubled. Why on Earth did we need 3 crews 3am-1pm. And then, 2 crews from noon to midnight? As soon as we have more FOs (keyword when), airport reserve will increase bc its easy more for the company.
