Quote: are these pay rates the ones before covid ? If so how did they think they'd get anyone with those requirements and rates?
Original rates were posted by someone on page 47

Most factual thing said on apc.

135/91 is all Yes people. Over weight takeoff? yes. Exceed altitude capabilities? Yes. Goes on and on.

I feel like the only real thing that makes 121 better is the stability of employment. Hear it’s a hit or miss in corporate. If someone doesn’t like you, your fired. That’s pretty messed up. Sound about right?

Economic downturn hits. Company or rich family decides to cut costs. Plane(s) get sold. Flight department gone, replaced by netjets/flexjet or commercial for their travel. Or that same thing could easily happen even when not in an economic downturn. The chances of a corporate flight department shutting down over 30 years is higher than a 121 carrier shutting down. Or, as you said, if they don’t like you, getting fired is a thing. Not as easy to get fired at a union airline. No pilot job is stable except maybe the military (even then not always the case). Airlines seem a bit more stable than corporate though.

i'm not an airline pilot but i applied for the FA position on NOV 30th and since then i've done a questionnaire and video interview which was about 4 pre-recorded questions. So from what i've been seeing on this forum it sounds similar in the process. Let me know if anyone progresses further in the application process.

Does Breeze really belong under the “Majors” thread if their pay scale is at a regional level? 😂😂

They don't even meet the DOT definition of a major, so *no*!

What was JetBlue’s pay rates when they started out? If I’m not mistaken, they were offered peanuts as well. It was many many moons ago, but if anyone has the E190/A320 rates for JetBlue circa 2000, I’d be curious how it compares to Breeze. With inflation, I suspect it’s far less compared to B6 over TWENTY YEARS AGO.

Anyway. Even though getting great seniority going here is definitely valuable, Breeze - at least not under it’s initial business plan - is NOT following the U/LCC model like B6, WN, NK, F9. Their strategy is more in line with Allegiant’s business model. Accordingly, I wouldn’t expect hard pay, soft pay, and work rules to come close to any of these other carriers for a long time — if ever. Look how long it took JetBlue to unionize and subsequently get a solid contract.

In other words, have realistic expectations about what you’re getting into. It could be a great opportunity for some, but I’d imagine that’s not the case for most.
