Quote: Before you REALLY stick your foot in your mouth, I'd like you to clarify something. Did you REALLY list Polar as a non-union carrier?

Funny, I seem to remember a pilot group that worked at a place with that name that ACTUALLY stood up, showed some sack, and dedcided to take a brief period of time off not too long ago to get some better work rules and pay.

It's called a strike, it's UNIONIZED labor groups that engage in those.

"or non union big yet perator( southern, trade winds ,polar...) then you might get your chance to go fly for a legacy and you will join the untion."

Well, whatever. The way you phrased, it was a " non union big yet perator" (whatever that is) then you listed the various companies. Pretty much makes it look like you implied thoses are all non union yet perator's. Whatever that means.

Just to clarify...I'm not pro or anti union. I'm just trying to figure out how all this stuff works before I jump into anything. Thanks for the responses.

remeber that aviation is not like the actors guild. you do not need a union card to get a job, but you will be expected to join the union once you get a job with a carrier with representation. aditionally, we don't have aprenticeships or union work halls like other trades do, and if you are employed by a union carrier you can go to work for a non union or different union carrier and then go back to your previous job or another one with the same or different union.

LOL...That's what I've gathered. Sounds like a good thing with the way the airline industry is right now.
