I used Adam Hughes and he was great. He really knows the company and goes above and beyond to get you ready. If you want UPS I would go with this guy!

Hi all at what point in the application process would you recommend contacting Adam Hughes? I have applied and show active status, believe I am well qualified aside from heavy experience all my international was in the Gulfstream. I do plan on attending WAI next month.

I wouldn’t bother until you’ve passed the Hogan and have an interview. I only had two weeks to prepare for my interview, and I did the full prep with Adam in that time. He’s great when you finally reach him on the phone!

The room is private with a lock and you would keep the key, no one else would have access to your room (you can leave anything there you want or need) the rent is $300 a month and that includes utilities and wi-if.
The rest of the house is shared space, you are welcome to spend as much time as you like in the living room or kitchen and dining room. Also have a very nice back deck with patio furniture and grill. All rooms are rented exclusively as crash pads for UPS pilots so far (references available).

Your worries are well warranted. He stays very busy. Several of my friends have used him (all were hired) and two of them got last minute interview offers (7 & 9 day notice).
For a while they weren’t sure Adam would be able to handle them on such a short notice. He managed to squeeze them in and ended up doing their preps over the phone and it worked out.
I suggest you contract him now and let him know you’ll be calling him as soon as an interview materializes. He’ll understand and it won’t cost you anything but he’ll create a file on you so when it happens he’ll be able to send you prep materials on a short notice. He’s a good dude.

Meet & greet - each seminar is different and it all depends on who you’ll end up talking to but in general:
- why us?
- why you and not someone else?
- tells us about yourself..
- how well do you know our company?
etc. etc.
Try to relax (I know, easier said than done), smile, maintain eye contact (don’t stare at the floor), tell them you’re exactly the kind of guy/gal they’re looking for. Someone who takes the job seriously, studies and works hard but at the same time has an easy going personality and enjoys working with others. In other words the kind of guy/gal people enjoy flying a 2-week trip with. Recruiters are humans.

Contact Adam BEFORE the Hogan. He has helped many people pass it!

Without a doubt I got my slot at Brown by going to the OBAP conference 3 years ago. I did everything but knock people down when they opened those doors and I was the FIRST person at the table. I made it abundantly clear I wanted to work here.

Be humble, but confident, look them in the eyes, never badmouth your current employer, and tell them point blank you’re “ALL-IN” when it comes to working for UPS, regardless of aircraft or base.
