Just heard we are scrambling to get to $5B profit. Expenses being pushed into next year and all revenue sources are being reevaluated. $5B is the benchmark they have set for themselves and wall street will evaluate a pass/fail on this metric. If we come in at $4.9B there will be a buying opportunity for DAL. Over is meh. $5.5B+ would be a huge surprise and not necessarily a good thing for the stock price because the
"how" will be scrutinized. It will be seen as deffering costs past Dec. 31 and early collections on revenue.

... which is what you just said we're doing to try to get to $5B. Unless you're EB and this is an encrypted network, don't you think analysts the world over have their ear to the ground on what we're up to? If not, and this is just a secret amongst us friends, let me know and I won't tell a soul.

It’s not top secret. A big over or under will trigger scrutiny. 5.0 to 5.5 is the acceptable range for the year. Low or high will make people pay attention.

Just curious how much the typical profit sharing check would be. Say you are a narrow body FO. Thanks.

It's based on your annual salary so the more you make, the more you get. 15% of W2 roughly last year. It's been about 2 months salary, give or take the last few years.

Thanks. I figured that was a percentage of salary.

Must be nice.
