Quote: Do they have CDAs going into other London airports? I assumed that was just LHR.
You can get it anywhere in the U.K. iv gotten it into MAN before. But it’s guaranteed in LHR.

Quote: So are y’all doing London flights now or what? Tired of reading through all the bs...just curious....happy where I’m at. Could be a non rev option but I don’t really like to travel.
All of that hype and we didn't even announce it as an official blue city... Just the intent to fly there, which city, who knows, what frequency, who knows. This place... Jeez.

This thread reminds me of Dumb and Dumber....

So you're telling me there's a chance....

The only definitive action Jetblue has taken is the CEO leading by example; picking up trash.

Saw some Instagram videos of the big announcement. Looked like a pretty wild high school pep rally in a gymnasium. “We Will Rock You” being played made it appear even more cringe worthy. I now totally get the riff between the down to earth pilots at JetBlue and the Blue Juicers.

Quote: What made JetBlue a threat, was buy in from its employees. It was that extra service people did when they believed in this place. That is gone now.

Delta has its mojo thanks to the the very Nielman like idea of generous profit sharing. They are firing on all cylinders right now as everyone is pulling in the same direction so let's not toot our own horn while our managers continue to destroy our culture.
This is a VERY good post and JB "leadership" would be very wise to read it several times over.

I spend a lot of time on Delta airplanes and the DL employees are MUCH more engaged and as you say, pulling in the same direction, vs Bluemembers.

Quote: Wow! What were people expecting from this meeting? Did anyone who joined JB in the last 5-10 years expect to be flying JB to London someday? Perhaps in the last few years with the rumors about London, but did anyone expect it when joining a few years back when JB was primarily a domestic and Caribbean operator? Probably very few people. So, why the let down? Back then I would never associate JB with transatlantic flying - so, I’d personally view this type of additional flying as a bonus (at least for the super senior pilots who can bid it). It just surprises me because JB is clearly not a legacy with huge route variety - we are talking apples and oranges in terms of route profiles and I would expect people to know that when they signed up.

If you really want longhaul flying, Kalitta and Atlas are hiring. But the grass is rarely greener. I know longhaul pilots who are constantly fatigued and they are looking elsewhere.

Although clearly not easy, the Legacies are hiring quite a bit. I met a former JB 190 FO the other day who recently joined Delta on the 767ER, so, there are other ways to get that type of flying if you really want it.
At my interview 8-9 years ago, we were all told "wide-bodies and Europe" are "being evaluated and in the future business plan". Even said the target fleet size before they would order wide-body aircraft was "250 airframes".

There were many other stories told to pilots over the years by "leadership".

So yeah, this is all happening much slower than they *told* us it would.

Not that "leadership" promises about the future are guarantees, but you are talking about expectations, and expectations we did/do indeed have.

Oh my. We are making this way to complex. This was the old state of the airline speech that barger used to do just with more ra ra stuff. Look they gave us some of the plans yeah it wasn’t super specific but if it was people would be like why are we saying all of our plans. Look I will be happy to complain about management but they have done a little better lately in communications. This was an internal announcement and a different way/strategic plan of JetBlue. It wasn’t long ago that people were on here saying mint would fail. Sorry this is actually good news. I know we can’t have that here but this “direction” is not a bad direction for us.
