Quote: On Facebook, a captain is claiming that unbeknownst to him, that a bot was installed on his personal computer via chrome extension. This supposed bot contained the flica information of a TPA FO and that when he logged into flica, it started running automatically.

I'm no geek squad computer technician, but that seems impossible to me. Chrome extensions don't just download themselves.
Yet if you know that CA you also know he's not making stuff up.

This isn't exactly what the claim is. He is stating that upon logging into FLICA, an error occured that caused him to be inadvertently logged into somone else's account...someone he does not know. In theory, it IS possible from an error on FLICA's end and a few other have corroborated that this type of error has happened in the past, even sometimes showing an account of someone at a different airline. The idea is that upon inadvertently seeing someone else's account, he caught a bot running on said person's account.

Also, I can't imagine the motive behind the idea that the Captain OP on Facebook actually uses it himself and decided to post on FB outing bot users. I mean, why?

It looked to me like a politically motivated post for MEC election.

Yeah. It is possible. IT is especially substantial that there were active processes trying to be ran by said bot.

I wish he outed the person who was using it... But we will leave it to the union and company, but it only seems a couple guys in the union care.

The company don't care about bot users unless it's affects the entire operations ! As example ; There's was an individual recently using a bot to pick up a premium trip, for whatever reasons, this person for got that his bot is ON running, the bot picked up the trip , unbeknown to the pilot, ! End result, No show! Operational affects big times! So Sec19 happened but not for bot usages because f9 can't proved it ! The proved was by 4 others pilots that saw the trip being built and was "Waiting" in the premium folder only to be " Denied " when ithe trip did show with already approved to the bot.
I know this " thread" topic is different but it's go to my points of the bigger issues , unless f9 and the unions come out and make a point to the bot users, that if caught using a bot one can expect the worst !

Haven't been at F9 very long but is it normal for there to be absolutely zero trips in open time in all of Jan/Feb?

Not really. But there are also a lot of people picking up everything because they want time to leave. (look at the trade boards. Everyone wants trips, not giving any away)

Slowest months of the year schedule and booking wise I believe.

Here is a link to the video someone posted advertising the bot in action on our own Frontier FLICA. If you look it starts on the "TPA" base page but when it refreshes it always reverts back to YOUR base. Which in this case after it refreshes it goes back to the MCO tab. So it looks like whoever is advertising it is an MCO FO.

Sucks to be getting screwed over by your own fellow pilots when those who play fair also are trying to do better for themselves and their family.
