as long as Resverve"s allow to pickup open times as first "come" first get! it will be very little open times !
Seniority doesn't means that much when comes to this part of the contract!
Resverve " suck" at every Airlines . Even the big 3, I don't believe the big 3 reserves are allow to pick up times in the format of first come , first get!
I'm okay's with resverves picking up open times , As long as the trips has been in open time folder for 24nr ! This allow linehodder and cummuters to maneuver theirs schedules Not necessary picking up ! After that, Reserves can have at it!
Similar situation with short calls reserves swapping with the Grid for days off ! I have no issues with that , ! Except, when short call resv swap days off to pickup open times, now, that's another loop pool that's needs to be fixed !

Unfortunately, these issues was signed off in the last contract and most of those unions folks are no longer at f9!

apology's in advance for my bad grammar, !

So you want reserve to suck even more by making it harder to make extra money and pick up open time?

Alternative. Make reserve the best to bid so that a senior bidder wants it. The commuters wont have to sit in a far away base for no reason. Since 50% are commuters, more people are about to become commuters through displacements, and bases are going to start stagnating I find this a much larger priority than it was previously.

I have been saying this, but I have been told "Reserve is for junior people and you want to get off reserve."

Yeah no. I want reserve. I want 13/14 days off. Sitting reserve. Being allowed to bid B reserve. Sit Airport reserve for an extra 3hrs of pay voluntarily. Have a 3hr callout for short call and a 16-18hr for long call.

Guess what? That makes reserve A LOT more bearable for most people. I hope to see better reserve rules in this new contract and I DO NOT want MY NC to tell me "What do you want to give up for that?" OR "Reserve isn't a priority because its for junior people" Tell that to the 16 year guys in DEN.

Unfortunately, some of those 16+ year Denver guys were part of the problem why reserve sucks.

They always assumed it was a temporary problem and only for Jr people. Well, factor in a few base closures, downsizing, displacements, realignments, day turns w/more hubs, and what do you know? 16 year guys are suddenly sucking on reserve wondering how it all happened.

Funny thing is, with how small Denver has gotten, how many Captains are there that would LOVE to be in Denver even w/bad reserve rules

It’s idiocy that we treat reserve more like a punishment, than an equal opportunity.

TLDR: we need better reserve rules.

Remember Biffle telling you you could make as much as your peers at Delta? Well that's your coworkers trying to prove him right by flying 24 days a month.

What I want it's want it's to protect seniority ! Not sure how long you been here? If you were here before this last contract you would know that we had 2 rounds of open times and seniority base when comes to pick up swap etc.
so if you are on reserve, you are new to company or just took first available upgrade! If you decided to upgrade that a your choice to make ! No one Jr can take just because they happen to submited first !
Seniority is Earned, ! Reserve you either new or you Choose to upgrade !
Fully disclose- I am a commuters So I get it! That's was another reason I brought up , often, I don't care to pickup. In past, I can swap for cummutable trip Not now! I think this will also create more premiums for all the bases, ! Scheduling dept now a days they don't need to do that because trips will pickup right away!
This system is already built , meaning that you can't swap or pick up a trip from another base until it's been in the pot for 4Hr!

No worries, your reserves rules is not going get changes!

It won't change because of people with these weird attitudes like yourself...

I could hold a line for 6 months, but I chose to sit reserve instead because my QOL was SO much better than my classmates who had an early line. There are still people in my base who sit reserve and are more senior than me. It isn't a bad thing if it has good rules.

And you state reserve is only for people who are junior FOs or choose to upgrade. What about all those senior 15+ year people who had their lines pulled from beneath them each time DEN got shrunk?

Just because you don't agreed doesn't mean it's weird or wrong !
Those 15 year people Choose to lived in " Denver" again , that's their choice ! I flown with many of those Denver people who understand that Denver will always be Very Senior and they choose to move or cummmte to another base where there's seniority instantly goes up ! " Choice"
It's goes back to protecting Seniorty ! Protecting seniority is a weird attitude than So be it!
I don't know how long you been here, everyone one start out jr the word "JR" is all relative ... none of the Big 3 airlines allow reserve to pickup open times like f9 as in "first come first served! It wasn't like before contract ! upgrade, .. it's a choice ... just like you choose to sit reserved! It's your Choice!

Having said that,
Now the company will continue to pull/ reduced / shift lines as they see fit! None of us has any control of it , except to leave which is what I'm working on ! using your logic ... now with all the new bases opening ! F9 will " pull" from all the bases especially the east cost bases. Where do we stop with the " what about-ism" .

I am going to guess that you were Not here before the contract ! Better yet, how long have you been at f9 ?
It's this your first airlines ?

2nd airline. 2 years.

I Don't think aggressive reserve should be a thing, it does suck losing trips to reserves and not letting us bis past 9:30am, but I just don't understand your logic behind having crappy reserve rules.

There is nothing bad that comes with increasing reserve QOL.
