There is a big difference 11 days off commuting. And 11 days off and based where you live.. and most NH’s that are getting hired they want 11 days off and 100hrs a month. Problem is you have 5100 pilots with 5100 different priorities in there life right now.. the senior “disgruntled” 10-15 year guys want more time off less work for the same amount of money.. the 20-30 year guys want there 7hr standups..the 0-3 year guys want 100hrs a month so they can upgrade.. the 3-8 year guys want 1000hrs pic.. My advice to anyone is go where you can have a balanced life. If your from boston..., go to Republic please.. if your from PHX. You have a choice. Mesa or SkyWest... If you find your disgruntled because you commute 2 time zones when you live in another regionals base maybe you need to consider why you chose XYZ. Hopefully it wasn’t because of what you read on APC....

Some really solid advice and good ideas. However, it's ALWAYS possible for those who WANT 100hrs a month to bid for it or pick up flying from open time. It's completely impossible to drop or lose flying. And thats the part where the frustration is. We grow in pilots every month but the company won't stop picking up flying because it thinks we're "properly staffed" despite having to beg everyone at the company to put ourselves on reserve this weekend. It's getting old.

Hence my whole “subcontractor” scenario..... I’ve come to grips with that... I'm toped out on the scale but friends around me are so disgruntled that they don’t have “mainline” benefits and schedules, that its seems to ruin there home-life also. But there to deep to leave.. a few have and seem happy going from the top 100 at OO to bottom of SWA or FedEX... there is no one answer for QOL/Schedule/pay. Everyone has different needs/wants.. but knowing i came to OO with the career expectation of being a E120 turbo prop captain making 65k a year max. And now I'm flying a fancy RJ making 3X that. Im pretty greatfull... (of course i want better schedules and more pay ect... but could be worse..)

$195,000.00 a year? Must not have mostly minimum credit or half your duty time credit pairings in your domicile...

3 x’s Is LCA.. but compared to E120 captain making 50k. 3x Yes. But as a LCA yes 195k is obtainable...But don’t complain about only getting 5 days off a month....

If you’re on the e175 at top scale, you’d have to credit 1400 hours a year all with LCA override to make 195k. Not sure about your math.

When I left, 20+ Year dudes were not making near that (except the sim guys). The most I saw a guy make was 156k. And that was hustling; soft time, jr man, out of base pick ups, and sitting reserve on his days off when legal. Granted it was primarily 200 flying, non lca, and pre pps bonus. The 20+ years dudes who just flew their line and maybe a little extra were making 120,000’s. Again, I’m having a hard time believing the math.

Considering Sim guys push the 300k mark 195 as a LCA is doable... i don’t care if you don’t believe me. Like i said 5 days off a month. Blocking 90hrs + then doing 20+ hrs of line checks... not fun. Trust me. 195k is end of year with the 6 bonuses we get...

Ok. Sounds miserable though.

I'm a bum, hardly ever working over 90 hours a month, some months under 70, mainly fly the 200, don't work in the training department, and I'm tracking 140-150K for the year right now. I suppose things have changed...

I'm betting he's a sim guy also.

looking through the 175 bid transparency, 90-95 credit on 70-80 block looks about average for some senior folks ( with 13-15 days off) 95 credit×top out rate gets you to $140,500 plus 6 bonuses (easily another 10k) some LCA override and picking up on days off (3 days a month still leaves you 10-12 days off a month) i can see 180-195k.
