I had no issue with southwest prior to seeing that picture. To mean it shows a lack of respect for your fellow aviator. I'm baffled that pilots/swapa would even allow something like that. Maybe that's the swa culture I don't know.
Shows lack of pono.

That was meant as a tongue in cheek motivator. If I am not mistaken, it was taken down after the PC police got wind of it and didn’t want to offend anybody.
Southwest has been doing the “California Strong” thing for a couple of years now. They saw a challenge coming, especially from Alaska to be the dominant “local” carrier on the west coast. It is a really big part of the last few years at SWA as they have moved a lot of capacity to that market. The Hawaii expansion is just a piece of that puzzle. Hawaii is the west coast vacation destination of choice.
You can throw around all the native Hawaiian terms that you want. It won’t change simple economics. People will bring their business based on price, service, and brand loyalty. Hawaiian has a lot of that wrapped up already and they do a lot of stuff that SWA cannot do and probably will never do.
Again, read my post above, it is whatever to me. I don’t get why so many people get so emotional over some perceived threat by pilots from other carriers. Pilots do not make the business decisions. We fly the airplanes.
