Same. Greatest reason to upgrade was to never have to look at one of those losers again. Ever.

Quote: I am also concerned about this. It would seem that if our personal status quo was to use the UAL insurance i should be allowed to continue to use the UAL insurance assuming im not working. If I'm forced to use my wife's insurance not only have i lost 100% of my income my wife is now out about 20% of her pay as well. As you stated if this is the case its a double kick in the nuts. I understand there may have been abuse in the past but there needs to be more clarity on who is not eligible. It would also suck to pay into a system (albeit for only a few months), have a legitimate need for that program but not have access to it.
An email from the MEC came out today clarifying this issue. We are eligible to recoup the cost of spouse’s insurance, Tri-Care, etc. Phew! One less thing to worry about.

Didn't read it. You should also be able to file for dental premiums; we were in the past.
If you're at 30%, I'm seeing less of a case today for you to be furloughed - I'm getting a bit more optimistic on people returning to flying. I guess we'll know if some of the displacement is rescinded, as I'm expecting.

That’s good news! I hope you’re right. Not just for me, but I’m hoping for all of us. Thank you for passing along your knowledge on the health care subject.

Quote: In both previous furloughs, you would have been able to get reimbursed for the cost of your wife's premiums. I don't see that changing.
Really. I didn't read that in the most recent restrictions but it would be a big help and less of a drain on the furlough fund.

Here's a heads up in case you missed the email. Most of us are signed up for Dues Check Off, but NOT Assessment Check Off. You have to go to the ALPA website, download a DCO/ACO form, then mail/email it in. Instructions are in the FF FAQ email. Get it done early so it's not a huge CF later. It's important that the money starts flowing into the fund.

May 28, 2020 UAL MEC Furlough Fund Assessment Ballot and Frequently Asked Questions

21. How do I confirm I am signed up for Assessment Check Off (ACO) to ensure this is automatically debited from my paycheck?
a. To check if you are signed up for ACO, and to find the enrollment form if you are not, follow these steps. ALPA highly recommends signing up for ACO.

1. Login to ALPA.org
2. Hover over the red "My ALPA" box on far right
3. Select "My Account" in left column
4. Select "Member Info" tile
5. Select "Account" in middle
6. Scroll down to "Payment Program Participation"
7. Look under "Assessment Check-Off"
8. Y=you are already signed up for ACO, no further action needed
9. N=you need to send in a new DCO/ACO form found here or under the Membership Resources page

Thanks, we all need to get on this.
A little trick if people don't want to mail/scan it in is to save the DCO/ACO form, open it in Adobe, then they can electronically sign it and send it....easy peasy
Did mine yesterday, saves a few minutes of Barstool sports.

What it does is stretch out the furloughee's benefits for a longer period of time. Rather than using Cobra, they can find a lower premium cost alternative that best fits their family's needs.
Each furloughee will be able to be reimbursed the equivalent of 18 months' of Cobra benefits. That's for both medical and dental copays. I doubt any furloughee will be able to fully deplete their benefit as long as they find a lower cost alternative to Cobra (Cobra's expensive).

From the FAQ:
What are the eligibility requirements for these funds?
a. See items #5 and #6 in the MEC resolution. Furloughed pilots are eligible if they are not on furlough bypass and only if they are ineligible for other no-cost insurance (premiums 100% covered). If the furloughed pilot elects a plan with premiums (employer or spousal), those premiums will be eligible for reimbursement.

I never saw a reply from you. What do you mean by this? Do I understand your meaning correctly?
