Quote: Yeah, low utilization is the other part of the equation. Still too many pilots on property until block hours come back up to what they were, and we are still a long ways away from that.
Does anyone know approximately how many pilots we had on property last year?

Newest seniority list shows about 2500 total. I'm curious if that is that much more than 2019 numbers mainly because we were increasing our block hours rapidly at the beginning of this year due to the compass planes.

Quote: Well, if the company memos and market planning are correct, yes. Valudation.
What memos refer to unparking aircraft? I can’t find them.

Quote: IAH is gone dude once airlines aren't under the governments thumb for taking that money. There's been ZERO United (YX) flying out of Houston the past two months. Zero chance they keep it open for 3 daily American departures.

And you've been around RPA long enough to know ORD is and always has been on the back burner here. The only reason IND and MCI exist is because the massive amounts of departures to LGA and EWR. RPA is a northeast airline.
As someone else said, I don’t think United even knows what they are doing in IAH yet. The reality is though, even before the base, we had a large presence there peaking at 60 flights a day PRE IAH BASE. Even once the base was started, other bases continued to do a lot of the flying, even to this year. The base is small enough still, that I believe Even if only a portion of our UA flying returns, it along with the return of DL and AA flight can support the base. Remember, the CBA now costs the company a lot of money to move a displaced pilot.

Quote: PSA parked 20 CRJ-200's.
Envoy parked 20 ERJ-140's

Skywest is converting 67 seat (Large RJ) -700's into 65 seat -700's (small RJ).
AA operates on a ratio of mainline Narrowbody to American Eagle. Eagle is capped overall at 75% of the narrowbody fleet, with large RJ’s being capped at 40% of the narrow body fleet.

Every CRJ7 that is reduced increases the small RJ number, the CRJ2 more or less are being replaced within scope compliance by CRJ7’s. Envoy is also still taking delivery of new 175’s, so a new 175 is replacing every CRJ7 moved to 65 seats. So on the large RJ side, they are still over scope.

I think just marking planning shows airframes. Maybe the memo about bringing aircraft back with the sit buffer Incase there’s something wrong.

Quote: UA search function indicates YX flying out of IAH in august. I haven't gone through all destinations, but out of IAH I am definitely seeing, MAF, ICT, MCI, LAF, OKC, MEM, MSP, BNA
They are still selling their entire August schedule. The updated/reduced schedule won't be posted until the end of the month.

It's not a source, but the same thing was true for July when I checked in late May. Then they adjusted their schedule and all the Republic IAH flying disappeared.

I don't know that is indicative of anything, but I don't know it's not.

Search United's site for flights between ORD and LGA in July. You'll find 4 weekday departures, 3 on the weekend.

Now search after August 3rd and you'll see the precovid schedule - 15 hourly departures, most of them mainline, some on expressjet 175s.

The schedule they advertise and sell will be adjusted, my estimate is about 6 weeks prior to the departure date.

Yeah you're right. I found an article on whatever their intranet site is that says this as well
