Quote: Company has been saying consistently for months they want 7000 pilots on the property. I’ve zero idea what the “Master Plan” is. International travel is toast for years though.

So...a domestic “boutique” airline, catering to premium $$$ business travel? I hope not...boutiques never work (Hooters Air, MaxJet, Eos, Silverjet)

Or...maybe shrinking enough to pass muster with another merger, with Delta as the “absorbed” party?

OTOH...Doesn’t look like any other employee groups looking down the barrel of a furlough. Which means Delta wants to grow. Who knows. Kinda early in the day for this brand of cray cray.
The other employee groups (save the dispatchers) are not union. So no furlough. Fired.

Did you get your 12 hours of grandpa sleep last night? Cray-cray - seriously?

Quote: If the international partners are in bad shape, posible liquidation, there’s no other way they’ll have to grow organically vs JVs.

Those JVs won’t see money from us, because now everyone is by their own until recovery is achieved. We have planes in order, they will have to use them.

just IMHO
I had the same thought. I could see them keeping portions of the JVs in so much as using each other as feeders into their domestic networks. I can’t see the BoD allowing another influx of cash into their stocks; no telling how many billions we’ve already flushed/ lost, I suppose we’ll know after they all restructure.

I would bet that DAL management has some say in how that "restructuring" occurs.
They see this as their chance to get budget/discounted int'l feed to the domestic network. But called me crazy so I guess I am. Consider the above just rantings of a crazy man.

Drum = UNA soon to be furlough and thought to be crazy by .

Bleak AND snarky. I like it. Good point though. Heck of a morale hit. WARN act still applies to non-contract groups facing termination, that’s why I’m still holding out some hope for company sincerely for no furloughs or mass layoffs.

Oh wait, I get it. Sorry about that. Wondered where the anger came from

The "Cray-cray" was self-referencing (i.e., me! -- deltabound is cray-cray). I was not implying, or calling you "cray cray".

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Seriously, I didn't mean this to be a knock against you in any way, shape, or form. Sloppy posting my my part.

This whole world is cray cray right now, so I’ll allow it.

No worries, I just thought I would have a run with it and have a little fun. Most of the time I'm like an angry chihuahua. I make a lot of noise but no bite. I don't mean any harm.

Quote: Did all UNA pilots get the pre-furlough letter or just the NYC-based ones?
I'm in the top 10% of the UNA category (finally I made a category top 10%) and I got one and I'm not NYC based. I assume everyone in the UNA category got one.

I got my official paper one today in the mail. Not NYC based but I suspect it would be rather obvious if they just sent out the NYC ones and not the others. Not to mention Delta IT probably couldn't figure out how to mail letters to some and not others.
