Not quite sure what your point is. Of course we had a seat at the table, it was our grievance. And we too have had "victories" awarded by "The Magical Bloch" on other sections of the PWA but we certainly didn't prevail on the language that you previously cited. And it would seem to follow that if your PWA has zero contractual language with regard to an issue or happening that you don't get to grieve it on the plus side, if you are able.to establish standing without contractual language, you stand a much better chance of getting an arbitrator's decision overturned. I take it your previous airline had no furlough protection language

Well if you don’t understand my post then I’m not sure what the point of your original response was. People complain about the supposed inadequacy of furlough protection language and yet I would contend that the mere existence of such language gives a group the ability to argue the merits of their case. No language generally means no arguments, or a greatly diminished argument.

Perhaps, but if you don't win the argument in front of the arbitrator (as was the case in 2001), when he applies the force majeure doctrine he is essentially striking down that furlough protection language which is the equivalent of having no protection language at all.

When they cancelled the January AE I got a certified letter pretty quickly, I’m not so sure that this letter is that well planned out.

It’s not a certified letter. It’s just standard 1st class mail. Your actual furlough letter will be certified.

WARN act says 60.
PWA day 90 or 30 depends on if hired before/after 1 Dec 2016.
I believe this email and letter is to satisfy the 90 day states and exceed the WARN requirement.
Actual furlough notice will state that you are actually getting furloughed effective xyz date.

Company has been saying consistently for months they want 7000 pilots on the property. I’ve zero idea what the “Master Plan” is. International travel is toast for years though.
So...a domestic “boutique” airline, catering to premium $$$ business travel? I hope not...boutiques never work (Hooters Air, MaxJet, Eos, Silverjet)
Or...maybe shrinking enough to pass muster with another merger, with Delta as the “absorbed” party?
OTOH...Doesn’t look like any other employee groups looking down the barrel of a furlough. Which means Delta wants to grow. Who knows. Kinda early in the day for this brand of cray cray.
