You obviously don’t work for Air Wisconsin. COLA is not a term used here and I’m pretty sure other than voluntary furlough, there will be no other type of leave offered starting in October. This company doesn’t let people take off work just because. They’ll furlough way too many and then start the daily junior mans. You won’t even be able to drop a turn let alone take a whole month off. There will be two types of pilots in October, furloughed or working 95+ hr credit lines.

Except that the flying assigned cannons be shoe horned into 95 hour lines. It’s too inefficient.

This is how I see it. Outside the arguments of if masks are useful or not, a lot of people believe they do. United wants to survive so they need passengers to regain confidence in flying. Requiring mask use is one of the best ways right now to get people confident enough to pack themselves in a full metal tube for several hours during a pandemic. It would look REALLY bad if they are strict about passenger mask wearing while their employees are seen not abiding by the same guidelines. Whether it is in ORD/IAD or an outstation we represent United. Now is not the time to get on United's bad side, hence AWAC being so strict about employee mask wearing. Last time I checked I like having a job and angering United is the fastest way to lose flying.

No I don’t work for AWAC but that’s a moot point. You are a subcontractor, so many pilots at the regional level forget this important point. Don’t like it, move on. I have that piece of advice to all the “regional lifers” I flew with as a FO.

The airlines are struggling to survive and lure passengers back into the air. We (airlines) are trying to give them a peace of mind with all of the C19 mitigation efforts.

Don’t like it, move on? No other airlines that would be considered a step up are hiring.

Thats right they aren’t and if your mainline partner sees lack of compliance by its regional partners then you will be out of a job too.

It’s not rocket science, wear the mask

I do wear the mask. I never once argued with you about wearing a mask nor did I say I don’t wear one. I was just saying that you imply there are other options. There aren’t. Take a COLA. Not an option. Get another job. Not an option for most. I agree with you that if we are asked by our employer to wear a mask then we should do it, especially since there are no other options like you imply there are.
