Quote: I’m with Phins 100% on this. We just don’t have the data on long-term effects.
Historically, any side effects that have popped up for a vaccine have occurred within 2 months. Past that mark, historically, nothing new came to light.

FYI I know many, many docs and nurses that are foregoing the vax until such time they get to see the outcomes. Most are saying 2+ years. When health services providers are not mandating a vax, docs/nurses are not taking it en masse - people should think twice.

Crazy times we live in. Take ca
All your friends must be in the minority.

"Yale NEJM Catalyst study, notes that by early January, about 90 percent of medical residents had chosen to get the vaccine right away."

Some estimates indicated physician acceptance of the vaccine to be above 95%. But I guess someone needs to be the "one" in the ad that says "9 in 10 doctors agree"

We have had 4 vaccine trials, Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, and now Novavax. There were over 147,000 volunteers, during the trials, there were 948 total cases of Covid from all 4 groups, ~90% of which were in the placebo group.

Quote: Not for nothing and I have no dog in this fight but it's actually 1,913 deaths according to the CDC.
not for nothing, but that’s NOT 1913 deaths caused by the vaccines

from the CDC: Over 109 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through March 15, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 1,913 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. CDC and FDA physicians review each case report of death as soon as notified and CDC requests medical records to further assess reports. A review of available clinical information including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records revealed no evidence that vaccination contributed to patient deaths

Also out of that initial 109M, a large percentage were very old or sick. Do the math...

I have actually seen two media reports of deaths among the recently vaccinated which did not appear to be related to known existing conditions, so were either caused by the vaccine or were idiopathic. Stuff happens sometimes, with or without a vaccine.

So while I'm convinced the risk associated with the three vaccines deployed in the US is very low (exceptionally low for moderna/pfizer), I'm not convinced that the risk is absolutely zero. But it's apparently safer than flying, to say nothing of driving to work.

Even my mother, who passed away several years ago, was advised not to get a flu shot in the nursing home when she was very sick. She passed away about a month later. Good advice: don’t give a vaccine to a nursing home resident who is very near the end of their life. Their health is too fragile to handle it. It would do almost no good extending the person’s life.

My dad was in a similar situation while around the clock CNAs were caring for him at home. At Christmas, a decade ago, an experienced CNA took me aside. She said my dad was in the last 6 month of his life. He made it to March. Passed away peacefully, but she was correct.

Quote: Couple of scenarios-

1.) At the very least, people may start to develop skin problems. Could be a simple rash, but lipomas and brown spots are more likely. I think discoloration of the skin is also possible. Just ask CX500 how he likes his puss-filled lipomas from the vaccines the Navy gave him.

2.) In a more sinister mindset, perhaps the vaccine is part of a larger conspiracy/experiment to see how people’s immune systems react to a foreign entity. This could be widespread testing on the population for all we know. Don’t forget that Pfizer knew they had this vaccine ready to go, but decided to hold off on the announcement to hurt Trump. Only after the election did they magically come out with the announcement.

I think the second scenario is not as likely as the first
should have stopped at 1 and it would have been a thoughtful post. But with #2, Now you get grouped with Phins and get read only for entertainment.

Quote: Pfizer waited until after the election because they are a corporation, they cant appear to be screwing with an election for one side because eventually the other side wins. They stayed out of it and thats the best choice for the business.

They actually accelerated the timeline and release of results. They certainly did not delay it. Trump and his son accused Pfizer of delaying the announcement but never provided a single fact to back that up. Pfizer released the data as soon as they reached the FDA mandated number of cases. The CEO of Pfizer was not even aware of the results prior to the election as there are strict protocols in these types of studies.

One guy is allegedly married to a MD and spouts nonstop nonsense from dubious sources like "people I know". Virus origin to Fauci credibility while he gets his MD for University of Google, Qanon campus. But for a government bailout and a vaccine, the company would be in bankruptcy.
