My wife and I received both Moderna shots. Neither one of us had any issues after the first shot. However, we were extremely tired for two days after the second one. Normal ops on day 3.

Some random guy walked into the pharmacy behind my wife without a mask asking for a Covid test from the pharmacy tech. All we’re annoyed. We were both happy she has been vaccinated.

Based on everything here it all sounds completely dependent on each individual, both for the disease and the vaccine.

Glad that you didn't have significant side effects from the 2nd vaccine shot..

So you are saying that even though you already had COVID-19 and recovered.. and most likely have the antibodies that you still wanted to take the vaccine?

Did you check before you got the vaccine if you still had the antibodies.. that the vaccine is supposed to stimulate your body to produce?

Just curious.. glad you are Ok..

Yes, CDC guidance is to get the vaccine even you've already had COVID because there isn't enough data yet to determine if you're immune. Since there is no harm getting the shots, CDC says just do it to make sure.

Got my first shot scheduled!

JP,

What Lumberjack said. ^

Even though I had the disease and recovered, I still wanted the vaccine. I did not check if I had antibodies or not, because it didn’t matter to me. I would get the vaccine either way. My understanding is that if you have the disease, your antibodies are supposed to last a little while (at least 90 days), but there’s no data on how long they last in total. I wanted the vaccine because I know it would boost my current immunity, and because I assumed sooner or later some activities would require I had proof of vaccination. At the very least, a vaccination card could be used in lieu of a negative test.

I am military so they were distributing it to all of us on base. I did not go to Walgreens and take it from an older person. That would be kind of bad, as a “young” person who is already immune....

I can safely say that I never experienced any side effects right after the shot except for the sore arm, which has since gone away.

Cheers.

Actually they are getting much better grasp on antibodies and they are apparently as effective as a vaccine at the 7 month mark.

I am NOT telling anyone to avoid the vaccine, but it is not without some risk. As you know, the AstraZeneca vax has been halted in at least 9 countries at this point. VAERS and the UK equivalent shows many adverse reactions to Pfizer/Moderna including death.

Before you turn the hounds loose, I am not anti vax and have had the flu and shingles in the past year, I just cringe when I hear “there is no reason not to.”

Link to the “many adverse reactions to Pfizer/Moderna including death” information?

For all the “follow the science” preaching I’m seeing a lot of not following science in this thread.

If it was lockdowns that worked, you would be able to duplicate positive results in countries that try them. Isle of Man attempted the New Zealand model at the end of January. This is what happened.

Then, there is all of Europe as an example. France had lockdowns, curfews, mask mandates inside and outside, fines for no masks, 99.9% mask compliance. Has all done nothing.

Look at the symmetry here. None of these NPI’s have had any effect at all. Zero.

You would never see symmetry like this if even one of them were slightly effective considering different policies, different time frames on implementation, varying degrees of compliance.

Which one is the non mask mandate state?
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EwehsURW...name=4096x4096
Here is the state with the highest mask use in the USA at 96%. Did nothing.

At best, the price for these policies is clearly greater than any reward one could possibly maybe find.

Here is the recent link to Pfizer. AZ looks worse fwiw.

A lot of the stuff is mild and would be expected with any vaccine, but there are also quite a bit of immediate cardiac issues as well .You can poke around that website, Euro or VAERS and see the reported possible negative outcomes. I say “possible” because it is hard to prove these reactions as causation, but it would be naive to think that many aren’t related.

The reported cases are a relatively smaller number based on the total number of shots given, I am just pointing out that there isn’t “zero” risk.

Going to go with Israel on this. Massive vaccination campaign, modern country, lots of smart Jewish doctors, and a deep rooted racially ingrained hyper sensitivity to avoid any self inflicted Holocaust.

Apparently their virus reproduction rate has dipped below “1”, making it difficult for the virus to spread.

People die all the time for unknown reasons. All the fear porn the US media continually churns out about all things virus is beyond tiresome.
