Quote: for sure, i know better lol same thing i was thinking but driving may be extreme..a good 7 hr drive to only see the fam for a bit may not be as worth it. Just wasn't sure if they give the holidays off during ground school
you will not be in school on Christmas day, maybe one other day, but it’s not like you got a week off.

Had 4 days off for Thanksgiving, 4 days off for Christmas (including weekend). Not sure how typical, but that's what we had during initial training.

Quote: Forced upgrade go by seniority starting with the most senior. I believe those “senior-manned” on the last Captain award were end of 2017 hires. So I think you could skate for a little bit before being forced.
Are those guys at least able to hold a line by this point if they were hired in 2017?

Most junior round 1 CAs for CLT, PHL, DAY, and DCA were:
27 March, 2017; 14 August, 2017; 9 November 2015; and 23 October 2017 respectively.

Info as of the November award.

Quote: I am not 100% sure as when I went through we had a holiday and still had class that day. Some people picked to non rev home but its on you if you don't get back for whatever you have going. I know a decent amount of people are experiencing some time off once they finish 5 weeks of being in Dayton as they wait for sim availability. When I went through it was 2 weeks but that was pre covid. I've heard rumors its 3-4 weeks now but that's just rumors floating around.
Sounds good. Good info i could work with right here. Just wanted to know if they even consider giving days off if holidays land on a weekend or what not as it is the case for this year. No problem at all. Thanks!

Gotcha! 4 days off is not bad then.

Quote: They are back to forced upgrades so highly doubt you would sneak by as a FO with your experience
3-4 yrs on reserve for captains and dec? Is that true? Wow!! Seems like PSA may have found their reason no one wants to upgrade or come there dec!

It's closer to 4-5 years on reserve as a Captain.

That shouldn’t be a surprise at all. You’d have to wait for most of the on-property FOs to upgrade before you’d come off reserve. That’s how seniority works.

I’m not sure I follow. If I’m a captain now and they are still on the Fo list, I shouldn’t have to wait for a line for them to upgrade. Once they upgrade that’s one thing, but if those fo’s where ready to upgrade why do they need dec?
