This seems like a power play to keep pay low and have new green FO's drink the kool-aid early.

Looks like you will still need to pass the written. There might be plans to staff to the 737 and roll once things are under one contract. Amazon is growing and needs the feed.

Atlast to drop ATP requirement, 1000 hrs -737
Atlas Air to drop ATP requirement, and reduce requirements for the 737 to 1,000 total hours (when R-ATP eligible).

Exactly right. The company will argue to the arbitrator “Atlas hires pilots not even qualified for the Regionals, why should we pay our pilots more than X Regional?”

They want pilots that will be trapped at Atlas for many years while they build time at 30ish hours a month. They aren’t hiring for growth, only the attrition if we get another worst in the industry CBA. We’ll quickly return to our pre COVID classes of one.... as our exec put it, “we want bodies in seats” and “keep the Indians on the reservation”.

Talk is Amazon is about to walk away from Atlas. We’ve had nothing but loss of flying and all new airframes awarded to Atlas competitors since mgt ignored Amazons warning to get the labor issues in order. We’ll know next month when the Amazon warrants expire.

Hopefully this is just talk and not fact. You guys are on the inside and know more than outsiders

I think management knows that this next deal will be good for 5 years plus however long they want to drag out the next Amalgamation. Somewhere along the line they'll "give" out 10% pay raises to keep just enough people around to run the operation. In the meantime they need to get ahead of the mass exodus they know starts again as soon as everyone resumes mass hiring.

Amazon exercised warrants of AAWWH (and others) in the past and turned around sold them for profit. I’d expect more of the same. Smart move on Amazon’s part IMHO.

If I remember correctly, I believe that they already executed a cashless exercise of the warrants that were due to expire in May.

Look at the AAWW chart. Somebody has been steadily buying for the last month. No “official” company news to drive it.
