Exactly right. The company will argue to the arbitrator “Atlas hires pilots not even qualified for the Regionals, why should we pay our pilots more than X Regional?”
They want pilots that will be trapped at Atlas for many years while they build time at 30ish hours a month. They aren’t hiring for growth, only the attrition if we get another worst in the industry CBA. We’ll quickly return to our pre COVID classes of one.... as our exec put it, “we want bodies in seats” and “keep the Indians on the reservation”.
Talk is Amazon is about to walk away from Atlas. We’ve had nothing but loss of flying and all new airframes awarded to Atlas competitors since mgt ignored Amazons warning to get the labor issues in order. We’ll know next month when the Amazon warrants expire.
