Generally OK as long as the tail number doesn't end in GT.

Upgrade is five or six days in the classroom, six days in the simulator, and then a couple of specific OE trips (ETOPS, high altitude/Bogota) and a line check.

We're almost a year since the signing of the CBA.

I have no idea where the 777 rumors are coming from. Somebody threw that one on the wind. I haven't heard it from any credible source.

By upgrade I meant how much time frame is required from a F/O position to Capt. I understand I will be starting as a F/O if successful in the hiring process.

There are two in the upgrade process now, waiting for OE. The most junior has a hire date of 12/1/2016, so it's right about five years. The plans for upgrades continue through the first quarter. The rest of the 2016 hires should upgrade, and it is possible that we'll be seeing hire dates of early 2018 getting upgrades at the end of that period. (There is only one pilot left on the list hired in 2017.) Current hiring plans are for 16 per month through August. If we can retain any of them, upgrades should continue with the rest of the 2018 hires by the end of the year. That last part is my own projection, not based on any solid information other than current hiring plans, known retirements and what I consider to be reliably-sourced rumors. There are a lot more 2019 hire dates on the seniority list, so upgrades will probably stay in the 3.5 to 4 year range for a while.

Good day everyone!

Could someone shed some light on how a health insurance would look like at ABX? I am trying to do some planning to make some decisions for next year. I know there may be several plans or options but whichever light you can shed this way will be helpful!

United Healthcare is the provider. There are three plan options. The least expensive ranges from around $60 per pay period for employee only to about $190 for employee + family. Deductibles are reasonable - family deductible this year was $1200, no individual deductible. Family out-of-pocket maximum was $5000. The more expensive plans have lower deductibles, but what you'll pay in premiums is much more than what you'll save in deductibles. Dental and vision premiums are paid by the company, and their coverage is pretty much in line with any other I've ever had.

Big blocks (16-17days), week on/week off style, and 5-7 day groups for reserve. Lines are similar with a couple lines having you come in for a few days. We’re doing mixed bag flying. Some lines will combine DHL with Amazon and other combine that with Europe trips.

I would say a year at the moment. As much as we’re projected to hire coming up, I’m hoping it drops to 6 months.

16-17 consecutive days?? Or just that’s how many days you work in a month?
