A few questions as a potential commuter if you don't mind:
- What are current expected reserve times and how much are people being used on reserve?
- When you do become a lineholder how many times throughout the rotation do you end up with an RON in CVG?
- Are lines bid as sets of pre-established pairings or just days on/off that are then filled with trips?
- What's the rough split between rotations that have all 16 days in a row vs split lines and do any patterns tend to go more senior than others?
- Due to the un scheduled nature of the military flying are those trips usually given to reserves or are they bid for specifically?
Thanks in advance. Just got the invite to interview and am excited for the opportunity.

ATI, no commuting or crashpads, home based.
Omni FO window just opened too.
Good luck at the interview, can’t go wrong at any of the three.

Not to dredge all the stuff up that you can read here (APC) on this and many other threads...but, you can go wrong! ACMI isn't for everyone and all of the carriers have pro's and con's (mostly con's when compared to other segments of the airline biz). To stay on subject, ABX (and I think the Southern 737?) are the only ones that run a traditional airline base program (CVG for ABX). Everyone else is home-based whereby they are provided some level of travel time, tickets, and hotels with no defined base. There trips may start anywhere/everywhere since it doesn't matter where the beginning/ending is. Traditional basing requires your trip to begin/end at your domicile. As you will read, ABX has chosen to incorporate the cost of home-basing into other portions of the CBA (retirement). A person's mileage will vary greatly with these discussions. At the end of 10 years, one will have spent whatever in hotels or crashpads but have significantly more in retirement (including compounding, etc.), others will have commute free stress and airline point galore.
Generally speaking we all (ACMI) end up working about the same amount between each other and our base compensation are very similar.

Thanks everyone. I'm excited about the opportunity to interview. I'm looking forward to getting out of 135, having better schedules, and working in a standardized 121 environment. I think ACMI would work well for me, just looking to get the details since ABX does things slightly differently, like a scheduled airline. I'm actually starting to like that idea the more i read your answers. Even the full 16 days in a row is less than my current typical footprint of 21 days, but having different schedule options is a great plus.
One last thing, do you have line guarantees or should you just expect to make min guarantee every month?

Line guarantees. Former 135 guy here. It’ll be better here but remember no place is perfect. Still it’ll be better here. Even commuting. Crash pad life won’t last long if you even have to do it at all since people are holding lines quickly and hiring is picking up. Good luck at your interview.

It was my impression in your earlier post that you were asking about ABX military contract flights placement in crew assignments, vice one respondent answering wrt ability to work ones reserve/guard commitments around your ABX schedule. Known military charters can appear on regular lines. Those that come up after close of monthly bid are put on daily open flying list on Crew Trac. Crewmembers can bid for open flying on it (for extra $$), or else trade with crew scheduling for that trip. Hth, best wishes on interview.

It's OK you can admit OMNI is just another ACMI carrier with a crappy contract.
"Mat" be a bit late for you if can't accept reality..
